I really like your style. It seems to me a nice mix of realism in the portrait and the artist and simple stylization of the jars. While I like the monochromatic colors, I kind of wonder what it would look like with a complementary colored background. It works very well the way you did it, though. Good job!

I like the painters concentrated look at her artwork trying to decide to paint more or put the brush down.
Fine details, colors and superb story telling abilities.
Love the retro/ vintage like style.
Good Luck !

Wow. This is incredible. That's my first thought. A portrait of an artist painting a portrait. Way cool. I love all of the messy art supplies because that's what it's really like. True art scene presented here. The colors work so well together. The entire scene presents a complete idea although it is made of several distinct individual scenes.Well Done.

I like the graphite pencil sketch of this Portrait of an Artist. So realistic is your drawing and beautifully done are the shading and blending of charcoal and colored pencil. I like the color palette you choose. This is a talented and details sketch. This is very nice work and thanks for sharing. This is a fine entry to the JUNE2017 Open Challenge and a good contender and good luck.

She seems concentrated on her work, but somehow unhappy about it. This seems a typical situation for an artist. Happen to me all the time. The style of painting is so unique that I believe I know who painted it even as the artist name is not shown. The coloring and attention to detail "speak" loud to me. I like also how this is composed. The artist tools and the unfinished portrait draw the eyes first before they are released to look at the artist as well.

Your work has such grace to it. The posture of the painter is lovely. The perspective is well done. Overall effect is reminiscent of Rockwall, in the sense that the subject is not so exact that it is mistaken for a photograph, but the proportions are realistic.

A picture within a picture is a great concept. You captured the soul of the artist. I like the busy table with all her supplies. Good luck in the contest.

Portrait of an artist who is possibly painting the portrait of an artist...nice. Great lines, excellent shading and rich color. Also great emotion in the faces of both. Thanks for sharing and HAGD.
