Unfortunately catmal- the little HELLEBORE bed is all the way down by the Apple Orchard. I don't see these blossoms unless I am out and about in the flower beds....but I learned years ago that I couldn't plant EVERYTHING up near the house...lol I am thinking that in another few weeks I need to go up on my roof and try to get some shots of a bunch of the garden beds together...what I refer to as the 'Big Picture' Not to worry about the six. I am very glad you like this one. It's one of my favorite colors.

Light the deep rich Burgundy color of this picture and its contrast to the deep green, also how the central yellow stands out in it. Great focus, framed well and nice depth. Thanks for sharing and HAGD.

first of all, those flowers are not blue, but violet
also, the fact that the second flower is cut off and the pedals on the bottom popping up distracts and takes from the initial impact
thanks for sharing

Well gg...let's not mince words...lol Actually, the flower is not blue OR violet. It's burgundy. 'Blue Lady' is the variety name, as I explained in my notes. Rather like the title of a piece of art work ...NOT a description of the flower. Seems you liked nothing about this piece.....that's fine w/ me. I can deal w/ that. Do appreciate you having a look.....I think.

Nice shot. The dark red goes well with the green. The position of the flowers is nice. I like the colors a lot
Great job

I just noticed your name on a piece yesterday Jack and thought how good it was to have you back! Yes...you are right. I developed some crazy ass very nasty lung infection requiring surgery. Set me back for almost six months. Anyway, do appreciate you checking out my new piece and look forward to more of YOUR work too.

Deb, You did a wonderful job of this without having to remove the bloom.
Colors are awesome and very saturated which I love.
Focus is pinpoint here.
why do they call them Blue when they are red? Of course I don't really care. These lovely ladies are A-ok in my book :)

Oh me too Eileen...the deep, rich saturated colors are my favorites. Not a whole lot of 'pastels' in my gardens. As for the name...well lol I just don't know. That's why I prefer the botanical names. I see the word 'HELLEBORUS' and I know EXACTLY what to expect. See the name 'Blue Lady' and well....it could be ANYTHING and probably NOT even blue. Thank you so much for checking these guys out. Do appreciate the wonderful review you've given them too.

Interesting notes which give insights into the unusual blossom. Wonder why it is called the 'blue lady'!! Nice shot! You have framed it well. The light, colour and the composition have worked well. Good effort!

The names people give a variety of flower they have come up often make NO sense to me Seshadri...AT ALL....lol. That's why I prefer using the botanical names. Anyway, always happy to have you check out one of my posts and thank you for the lovely review you've given this one. Do appreciate it.

Stunning the color is amazing and the yellow is striking against the burgundy. The texture of the petals is shown nicely with sharp focus and great exposure and lighting. :) Mary

COOL,Deb!
Both the photo and the names! ( Both 'Hellebore' and 'Blue Lady' remind me of code names that were given to experimental military weapons systems many moons ago! I'm prob'ly thinkin' of something totally 'off the mark' but, well, there we go! )
Okay! Seriously though, that's a great looking picture,my friend!
Another really 'Good Show'!

LOL....but I think you're right actually Sean...especially about the 'Blue Lady' bit....and w/ the 'Hell' in HELLEBORE I wouldn't be surprised if that was some sort of code name too. Our military uses some crazy names doesn't it! Thank you so much for checking out my new piece....and for the very fun review too! Love it.

Me too,Deb! I've still gotta get around to givin' you a phone call soon,my friend! I get so 'into' babbling online that I forget how much fun it is to actually TALK to another artist! : )

Excellent choice of subject with subtle petal illumination but vibrant glowing core.
Fine floral features & smooth textures.
Nice color saturation & contrast.
Compact aesthetic framing.
Sharply focused.
Nice perspective & narrow DOF.
