A beautiful color with this deep rich red burgundy color. The pop of yellow in the middle highlights it. It is well focused.

What rich colors!! This is a lovely photograph. I like the way the composition is set up. The green carries your eye around and the yellow centers are perfectly placed. I like the way you have the one on the left it off. Nice work!

I love the deep rich colors Lauren. Not a lot of pastels in my gardens! Do appreciate you checking out my new piece and thank you for the wonderful review you've given it.

Gorgeous bloom, Deb. Your composition is spot on with its tight crop, slightly off center main bloom, and an artistic inclusion of parts of leaves and two other blooms. Total perfection. Clear and sharp with great detail on the pistils and stamens. Beautiful rich color. Makes a powerful initial impact too. Deserves a six if I had one.

That is the loveliest review Ed. Thank you so much for having a good look and giving it such an excellent and thorough review. I do really appreciate it and not to worry about the six. I realize that by this time of the week many people have used theirs all up. It's nice to know you think it worthy of one!

A beautiful blossom that looks great in this natural looking composition. I don't mind the partial on the right and like the rich green of the leaves. Beautiful detail and great colors.

Does it change colour as darkness descends? Your full and slightly off-centre composition grants us a nice, good look at your blooms. Exposure and sharpness are fine, well done.

Love the dark rich color of the petals; the yellow center really jumps out nicely; good contrast with the "ordinary" green leaves; good focus and clarity; you did it again. Take care.

Isn't it a great color swimmer?? I have it in several places in my home too...that's how much I like it. Thank you so much for having a look at my new post and especially for the shiny gold star. I do appreciate it very much swimmer.

Great shot Best Buddy. I really enjoyed your narrative about the flower and your difficulties in getting a good shot. If you could please send me a scene of you on your back shooting upward to get the flower that would be good. And for a nice element, have your flashlight near by. Man those are really pretty. The dark burgundy flower and the green leaves make such a nice contrast. Another great work BB ~ BB

LOL.....you DO make me laugh BB!! I would happily send you that image but when Comanche was shooting it she got her left paw in front of the lens and botched the entire image......but she's learning.....lol Always appreciate your delightful reviews!! Thank you for the laugh AND the lovely review.

Ya sure. The TRUTH is that Comanche was "Sitting on the Steve Flower". That really hurt but I understand BB.

I was one of those demanding reviewers and I am happy that you headed the demand and tried so hard for this image. This flower is indeed a queen. There seems no trace of the blue left. The color of the petals looks dark red-burgundy now, just as a royal robe and the yellow center reminds of golden crown. Those dark colors are beautiful. The concentration on the main blossom worked out. The blossom is nicely placed. The photo is well cropped and balanced.

You're most welcome! I just think of fairy tales when I see them. A dangerous beauty is always intriguing. :o)

sooo right Cleo. My Father used to tell me to watch out for the subdued, quiet boys....that THEY were dangerous too.
