wow,,there must not be too much room in there,,,I am not sure of the concept, the cross is also so very tiny at the top,,I was not sure it was a real church,, I would love to see the front or the doorway,,love the misty background

my first thought was a dome building the collapsed in the center, what is the little addition?? Nice photo, good clarity, good composition, looks like a rainy day in Ireland, well done

This has a nice serene, almost mystical quality. The angular architecture of the church is very striking and the misty sky is a great contrast to it. Nice work!

Similar to a geodome. Very futuristic. Added interest is that it's just "there" with all the empty land around it. Typical Connemara overcast skies, but the rain is what makes Ireland the Emerald Isle. Great focus and lighting.

The "Blue Church" as it is locally known, Our Lady of the Wayside Kilternan, is located in the foothills of the Dublin mountains. This unique church was built from timber in 1929 and is based on an Italian design that is commonly found in the United States.
Designed by Arnold Francis Hendy of Kaye-Parry, Ross & Hendy .
I come from a gene pool of architects and builders.
This is a fine shot of the back end of the church Nik. I believe the front is a Marina Blue color.
Nice POV, fine focus and Exposure is handled well enough for this drab day.
Hope you captured the front.
;)

Yes, I do have a shot of the front which I will be posting in the future. This photo though was taken in Connemara on the west side of Ireland which I presume is a long way from the Dublin Mountains which I assume are in the east? Many thanks to though for your detailed reply!

This is very unusual Architecture of a church with good camera techniques. Your framing and placement of the church is perfect. A good perspective and nice touch with the fog in the sky. Your focus, lighting, clarity and contrast are excellent. Nice work and thanks for sharing!

Nik,
A great picture of this unusual looking modern Church it's grey slate roof blending into the surrounding mists hiding the mountains of Connemara in the background. Artistic composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.
