Wonderful capture of your beautiful Cardinal. Detail is marvelous, revealing his gorgeous, vibrant red and markings of black bib. Don't know what this bird is eating but want some of it. Thank You for sharing.

Thank you very much for your kind review. I don't know what he is eating, perhaps worms. insects or sunflower seeds. Which on would you like to try?

lol- lol, believe would like to have the worm platter with fried grasshopper in beatle sauce topped with sunflower seeds.

OK, I tell the bird to prepare that meal and then fly it over to you.

This is indeed an adult male. He lives in my garden but he does not hold still often.

Great contest entry. So hard to capture one of these and this one is a beauty with that wondeful deep red color that you captured so well. Nice and clear, framed and cropped nicely, and good details. Adds up to a well done shot. Good luck.

What a beautiful up close shot of a cardinal, one of my favorite birds! Very good clarity of his eye and feathers. Nice color and textures also. And nicely framed by the greenery surrounding him.

A great entry for the contest. The vivid colors are well saturated and rendered. Focus is spot on. I like the one blade of green grass left in the foreground. Nice job of cloning around the head area. This should be a real contender in the contest ~ Steve

Nice caption of the bird and the colors really stand out in the green background. I like the sharp focus on the eye, although I would have preferred a sharper focus on the body and feathers

Great entry for the contest 'red'. Amazing rich colour of this bird and such a great contrast with the greenery surrounding. Nicely composed. Good clarity and focus and well lit to see the details. Great capture!

What a rich color! Very striking! There's a slight blurriness at the crest which I love. I also like the one blade of grass in front of the bird. It gives it a 3 dimensional effect. Beautiful work!

What a pretty specimen, and a good choice for this contest. I like the one blade of grass on his chest. The angle of this shot truly highlights the features of your subject, his sharp little beak, his little red crest and the dark mask on his face. Gorgeous.
