Excellent! what a great focus, details of the black face and eye, love the way this bird looks, I love Cardinals,,they are so loud and boisterous is their singing and so very distinctive in colour

Quite a nice bird shot posted here! Your cardinal is well composed and it's redness certainly meets the requirements of the competition. The exposure is good but in my view the photo is not sharp enough. Nice try though!

Thank you very much for your honest review and your input. I did not realize un-sharpness, but will check. It might be caused by the required resizing, but could also being caused by the zoom used or the crop of more than 50%.

Definitely a great subject for the contest. Nice color, focus, depth and detail. You even got that spark of light in the eye. I wish a little more vastness was available to this little one to hop or fly into on the right. Great Entry. Good luck.
