Very nice capture Susan!
The focus is sharp, white balance Controlled and the square crop is superb. I like the soft shadows, pollen dust and details on the wings.

no he has lil legs grabbing that stem. maybe the bug is trying to wrestle..lol. the clarity is great. the angle of the shot of the bug on the flowers is great. the capture of the light is great. the image is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. good eye and great job overall.

Your camera techniques are at work here and nice is the angle of your shot. Perfectly framed and photo is well composed. Your focus is spot on with good lighting and well defined details on the flower as well as every part of the Hover fly. I like that you see right into the throat of the Lilly and the wings of the fly perfectly opened for outstanding photography. This is very nice work and thanks for sharing!

This is pristine! I really love all the detail here that can be seen - petals, stamen, wings and body of the bee. Marvelous. I like the dusting of pollen on the petals too. The contrast of colors is so great the bee came dressed for the party. Love all of this.

A very nice nature shot presented here! Like the light and delicate look of the shot. Your fine macro clearly gets to the heart of the scene in fine style. Sharpness and exposure are fine. I, do not recognise the insect and the name is also new to me. Nicely done!

Hover Flies like this one can often be mistaken for bees or wasps & there are others that resemble Horse Flies. If you google "Hover Flies" there are many sites to research them.

The square format you have cropped the photo into works really well, and the hover fly has got a very good placement in the bottom right corner. Indeed a lovely and well taken photo, and with an excellent DOF.
