Indeed they do look like swans. Very insightful to capture this little flower this way. Is it possible to get this type of a shot with those fire red flowers in the back? Very beautiful

A rare find!
Rara avis of a floral species as I've never seen anything resembling a swan like this before!
(My English is awkward but you know what I mean, right?)
Subtle illumination depicting the dramatic mood of the moment.
Diffused focusing.
Ideal framing.
Nice perspective & narrow DOF.
Thanks for sharing...

It's just the solid white ones that are unusual Dick. Thanks so much for having a look.

This white Columbine is truly beautiful and elegant with its hanging petals, and you have pictured it so well. I especially like the inclusion of buds in the background and the great looking bokeh.
The flower is standing out sharp against the background, and it is such clear and well defined details to be seen in every part of the bloom. The white balance and exposure is perfect.
The photo is also nicely framed and the flower has got a very good placement within the frame. Indeed a lovely and well taken photo, and with a very good DOF.

This has a wonderful quality to it with grand light. Your framing is good and photo is well composed. I like how the beautiful background with the complementary colors of green/yellow accentuate your flower beautifully. Your focus is sharp with wonderful details on the petals. I love the unusual shape of this gorgeous white flower. A good composition and nice to see the beautiful buds in your background. This is very nice work and thanks for sharing! Great artists notes!

So much grace in this splendid photo with the blossoms resembling, as you say, swans in a circle. The subdued lighting is very effective and highlights the flower's whiteness.

My first comment is that anyone who does not read your notes along with viewing your amazing floral photography is really, really missing out on a lovely experience. Do you remember every little thing about each flower....such as when this one appeared? Or do you have a journal that you refer to? I kept a journal for years and still refer back...although I seldom write in it now.
I love Columbines. I don't remember seeing a white one up close. And I certainly don't remember studying the petals thorough enough to see the swans. An amazing photo, Deb. Your whites are sincere and gentle and playing the soft role necessary in this dance....nothing 'in you face' so to speak. I love the greens most of all. They have the new green shades and that bit of yellow green that is so lovely with white. Your frame is telling a story and is a must to leave a bit in focus. You have done that with finesse...just enough. The longer dof has some white. Is that more of this Columbine? Your Shed Bed... LOVE THAT...sounds glorious when the Monarda is also in bloom. But I am so glad there is no vibrant color to interfere with this scene. You have a beauty here.. Just add it to your book. You are seriously impressive as a gardener...let alone a photographer! A definite framer!! Thank you again for sharing. Can't believe how much difference there is in our seasons. My Monarda is almost finished...due to extreme heat. Wow!

LOL...I remember an inordinate amount of things about each and every flower in my gardens Becky. I did computerize all the beds several winters ago which probably seared planting dates etc in my head even more. I am blessed w/ a very good memory....especially for things that really interest me.
Yes, the white in the background is more Columbine....right behind that is the red 'Jacob Kline' MONARDA. I can'tt believe yours is almost done already....mine has not even started yet although the aroma is already there...I can smell it when I'm in the Wood Shed.....technically listed on my computer as Bed #1 I always refer to it as the Wood Shed Bed....lol...has a great ring to it I think. So thank you sooo much Becky for another wonderful review and the gold star you shared but mostly I appreciate your appreciation of my flowers.
