Awesome shot! It is amazing how the flowers resemble swans. The petals look like wings. They look as if posed to begin a dance. I also like the one in back left that makes me think of two slugs. The green seed heads look like the eye stalks on a slug. So, more than meets the eye.

EXACTLY what I thought Bill....about the 'wings' I mean. Now the slug bit....lol....YUCK. There has been so much rain the past month that it may turn out to be a banner year for slugs....Oh goody....NOT! At any rate, thank you so much for taking the time to check this one out and, of course, for the shiny gold star!! I do really appreciate it.

A very nice looking white columbine. Around here all the wild ones are purple and white. Fine exposure for the white petals and a great composition.

I can't imagine they're wild MM. I've never seen them around here anywhere and my closest neighbor is a couple of miles away so not sure they came from there either. Maybe a bird dropped some seeds? lol I know I wonder about them every season. Thank you for checking them out though...and for the fine review.

This is a beautiful photo of this elegant, graceful flower. I agree that this looks like lovely white swans. The exposure, focus, and depth of field are perfect.

The blossom looks indeed like the a gathering little swans in the twilight of early morning. The soft background emphasizes the flower while the subdued light adds mystery and magic and amplifies the impression of a magical dance.

Yes, I see the dance. It just occured to me that those could be also white doves. ~Cleo

White Doves...lol...of course Cleo. Maybe even more so than Swans. That's your artistic eye that saw that.

I think it could be both and I like the connection to Swan Lake, because it is one of my favorite ballets.
Something else just came into my mind. It is not a such a curiosum that the plant showed up in your garden. Columbine grow wild in the woods. Their seeds are transported by wind, insects and even birds. One seed probably landed just right and liked it in your garden.

Very beautiful, delicate image! It has a magical feel to it, due in part I think to the shady lighting. You're absolutely right-it does look like swans dancing! Beautiful job!

My first thought was, is it dead? Then, I saw the swan shape, very cool. Nice flower forms. Good white/green contrast; nice and clear; looks like they're talking to each other LOL; love it; take care.

LOL...you are a nut swimmer!! But my thoughts exactly (not the dead bit...)....but the all 'heads' in.... like they're having a little group chit chat. Do always appreciate you checking out one of my new pieces. Thank you so much for the most excellent rating AND the fun review.

I truly love your notes on all the flowers. This is a spectacular and elegant columbine and your title is perfection. Your shot captures the Swan dance spot on along with those differently elegant green buds waiting to join a future dance. Framed to perfection with clarity, perfect white balance and very fine detail. Great job and another joy to view and review. I can the imagine th Monarda with them.

awww...that is such a nice to say about my notes Ed. Thank you for that. I also appreciate your comment re: the unopened buds. I initially tried to photograph this blossom w/o them but they weren't having it...lol...just couldn't find an angle I could get my arms or legs into to get the image w/o them....so there they are. It's a really lovely review you gave my little dancers Ed. Thank you so much.

Yes, I can see the resemblance in your photo! Your fine central image allows a good look at the "swans"! Sharpness and exposure are good. Nicely done!
