A beautiful picture of these beautiful pink flowers bathed in soft sunlight showing us it's finest details that to my eye would look beautiful in any garden. Beautiful composition framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.
Many of the flowers in my garden came as gifts from the heavens by the wind or through a feathered messenger!

Thank you very much for your kind review.
It is nice to hear that you appreciate those gifts of heavens and they have their place in your garden too. :o)

This is such a pretty photo of this pink weed. I like that you have called it a voluntary flower instead of a weed. Your background is as much a part of this composition as your pretty flower. The bokeh that you have created with your camera settings is beautiful and telling a story of more flowers in the gardens behind. Clarity is good and you have even captured a visitor I think...yes? Framing is perfect with the flower on the left and it's unopened buds reaching diagonally through the frame. Beautiful and creative. Good luck in the contest!

Thank you very much for your encouraging review. There are indeed visitors, two of them, but one tries to hide.

Excellent choice of subject with a classic Royal color very inviting to these two visitors.

Fine floral features & soft velvety textures.
Dramatic bokeh effect.

Nice perspective & narrow DOF.
Best of luck in the contest!
Thanks for sharing...

I agree with you. It is better to call some of these weeds plants, because some of them are in fact wild flowers. It is just that they have the tendency to grow where we don't like them two. This one is truly pretty with the delicate link flowers, and it is standing out so well against the nicely softened background.

Your photo is also nice and sharp and it is clear and well defined details to be seen in every part of the bloom. I also think the exposure is spot on.

The photo is nicely cropped and the pink flower has got a fine placement off to the left. Indeed a lovely and well taken photo with a very good DOF, and I wish you luck for the contest.

This is so pretty!! I love the soft green background that makes the shimmery purple pop. The way the light is hitting this bloom is great. You captured it perfectly.

A very pretty delicate flower. Hard to imagine it is a weed. I like the colors. It is well focused. A good entry in the contest. Good luck.

I see you had some insect friends who were enjoying the flower too. I think you did well on the composition with the buds viewable but slightly blurred on the right. The background is nicely blurred. Overall a good shot but sharpness looks a tiny bit off to me.

Thank you for your kind review and your input. I did not not notice un-sharpness on the blossom or the insects. The softness of the space beside the blossoms and the bokeeh of the background are intentional.

I realize and very much approve with the Bokeh background as I mentioned in my review. I was only referring to the flower petals or their edges. If you say they are sharp that is good enough for me. Sometimes I do think the sizing down for FAR does make a difference.

The uploads to FAR do make a difference, but I could not find out jet what cause it.

Really enjoyed your comments re: 'volunteers' in your gardens. I get them too...lol It's a lovely image for this contest.

The petals look thick...are they? Almost the waxy sort of petals DAPHNE'S have...although they are definitely NOT DAPHNES. Focus on the single blossom is nice....has a couple of little buggies on it too, doesn't it...lol The color is wonderful and exposure is good as this looks like it was taken under quite bright conditions.

Was this a large crop?? I can't quite decide if it's noise in the background or just b/c it was a bright day that makes it look like noise. As a matter of fact, I may have cropped this a bit more- if that were possible. I don't think the two buds add much too your image but do realize you may have cropped this one as much as you could already. Regardless, I wish you the best w/ it in the contest....AND in your gardens...lol

Thank you very much for your throughout review.
I have cropped it already as much as possible. I tried a tighter crop, but it did not look good. there might be some noise. The light conditions were not good. It is actually taken after sunset in the shine of a solar garden light. The blossoms open only at night and close in the morning hour. I had to get close to the flower because it is so tiny. I was balancing the camera on my knie while holding the large leaves of the Alpina cerumbet which goes close by with my other hand. The blossom is about 4 mm wide. The texture of the flowers is papery, like thin pergament. There are indeed some little bugs going for the nectar.

Completely understand about the crop....lol...I mean there ARE limits unfortunately. You did a fine job here considering all that was going on....including camera on the knee.....good for you!! Actually just decided who's piece this was....the gardening talk...lol...but my lips are sealed. Good luck!!

Thanks for the luck wishes and for sealing your lips! I just forgot that I am incognito in this contest. I just hope nobody else catches me.

Oh they won't....I just know b/c we always garden/flower chit-chat.
