This is a peaceful photo. I can feel the cold, crisp air and hear the crunch under my feet. The brilliant white snow in the sun is great. Love the composition with the trees framing the figure and the snow. Good work.

Super Cool,Deb!
This reminds me of how the westerly approach to 'The Hammadryad's Ravine' looks in late January!
It also makes me so very happy that Winter is still many months away! : D
'Good Show',my friend!

You really got a wonderfully depthful shot here, Deb, right through trees and along your footstep. Seems to go on forever. Pristine clear with great details too. Very neat and makes me cold:).

Soooo, you get on my case about scouting for fall foliage and then you take us back into the dead of winter. That's what I like about you, unpredictable.

The truth is I like fall and winter better than summer.

There is deep DOF with this take. Sharp and clear to infinity, just the way a woodland scene should be - Kudos.

Your camera settings are spot on great - I would expect nothing less from you.

I love the bit of bright blue sky at the top center. It gives the scene so much realism and depth.

Also a very nice touch with the snow covered leaner in the foreground.

I like this one ... B-)) Bob

LOL....love that OMP...'unpredictable' Truth be told I thought I'd give reviewers a break from my endless flower posts. Thank you so much for an outstanding review....I'm so glad you like this one. I may complain about winter but I LOVE it...if it weren't for my gardens I wouldn't have nearly as much positive to say about summer.

I know how you feel. I sometimes feel like I have posted enough landscapes to make my own planet. Makes me crave something new and different. But after I calm down I'll be all excited about a new area with the most awesome, one of kind, you ain't seen nothin yet landscape. Human nature I guess ... OMP

Snow is a VERY welcomed image right now with our Florida 100 index heat.

the humidity here alone is a killer.

Love all the shadow play in the snow here Deb.

Your colors are gorgeous and I can see where there was a sky or snowboard indent in the snow as well :)

It's my snow shoe trail you see there Eileen. I was actually thinking of giving reviewers a mental break from my endless flower posts...lol...but you're the second one to mention the snow is nice b/c it's very hot. Never even thought of that. Thank you so much for the wonderful review. Do appreciate you having a look at this one.

What a cold change of pace BB. I agree that it is the shadows that really make this scene. I like the way used the two trees as a sighting mechanism for leading the eye to the far reaches of this great scene. Reminds me so much of the walks I used to take in the mountains of Idaho growing up. Great work BB ~ BB

A Mental Break? Did it work?! Well I stared at this fool thing so long, I grabbed a coat and hat and walked out side to go feed the koi. It was 92 Degrees!!! Thanks a lot! Now the neighbors are Sure that I'm not playing with a full deck. I tried to explain but it just went down hill from there. So Thanks AGAIN BB. Sheesh. I may have to Revaluate things here.

A cyber six Deb. This is so beautiful. I love your notes! I did see the path immediately! Good job Comanche!
And you are so correct about needing to 'cool off' with this wonderful scene at this time of year. Perfection....almost better than air-conditioning. ... Almost!

The colors are stunningly clear and beautiful! Thanks for sharing!

ahahhaa...Comanche, I hope, by next season will have learned she needs to walk a couple of steps behind me Becky. I was on my face a number of times this particular day!! You are the second one to mention the heat and how seeing this was good. I was actually thinking of giving reviewers a mental break from all my flower posts...lol...but if it works the other way too I'm good w/ that as well. Thank you so much for a really wonderful review Becky....I appreciate it very much.

When I looked at this as a thumbnail, I sort of knew that it had to be yours. It is indeed a lovely winter scene you have captured here and Like the way you have used the foreground as a nice and natural framing of the little snow path. The same path also work as a nice and natural leading line bringing the viewer into the composition.

Your photo is also nice and sharp and it is such clear and well defied details to be seen in every part of the photo. The exposure and white balance is perfect.

The slight cropping has worked well and I think it is a very good balance in the composition. Indeed a lovely and well taken photo, and with an excellent DOF.
