Good capture. The clarity is great. The capture of the light is good. The angle of the shot of this reenactor is great. The image is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. Good eye and great job overall

I like that your image is telling the story of Gettysburg and the stories of so many brave men. I think you did a fine job capturing a candid shot of the young man and capturing the emotions of the day. A good central composition that is engaging. Your focus, lighting, details and clarity are excellent. Indeed a well taken photo with a good depth of field. Thanks for sharing!

This photo is a poignant reminder of America's history. The young man's look on his face says it all. You see him here as an individual, somebody who's going to kill or be killed. Looking at him makes me think of how different the culture is today if this same guy lived today, where he would be in college going to parties, or then again he'd probably be in the modern day military.

This one caught my eyefor the way you have successfully captured the pensive gaze of your subject--clearly consistent with your intended theme and certainly the emotions of a soldier facing the inevitability of battle.

I like this very much. I also liked your notes. I'm a big Civil War buff and I appreciate your words. I love the pensive expression on the young man's face, and the lighting and subdued colors give it an authentic, timely feel.

This is a fine portrait. The young man seems to have the same deep thoughts you express in your comments. The light on his face amplifies the serious expression. The darkness is adequate with the mood of the photo. The background gives information about the event without being distracting. It is a well focused, balanced and framed photo. I appreciate the informative comments.

Being a Brit I have no wish to comment on the politics/history of your dispute. I will say though that you have posted here a nice shot of a night time camp. It's well composed, sharp and has good exposure. I must say though that being very over-weight he does not convince me that he is a soldier!
