This angle provides such a good view of the center design and colors, which are vibrant and attractive. Your settings worked well in the shade and brought out the definition of the petals nicely. I like the informative notes too.

Beautiful flower and I like the backlight effect. Not real happy with the buds in the upper right corner - so massive they distract the eye from the lovely colors and shapes.

Thank you very much for your honest review and your input. Buds are often near flowers because several flowers develop usually on the same stam. I included the buds in purpose to show the different stages of development.

Have seen this flower before growing wild and thought they were not weeds but flowers from plantings that just got away-lol. Everything sharp, revealing that they look like sunflowers. Yellow color is well saturated and beautiful along with excellent detail in the stamens. Thank You for sharing.

Thank you very much for your kind review. Its just the other way around. This is a wildflower which was selected by gardeners because of her beauty and the benefit for bees and butterflies.

Nice capture. The clarity is great. The capture of the light is great. The angle of the shot of these flowers is great. The image is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. Good eye and great job overall

Well I bet this very lovely COREOPSIS would be highly insulted to be referred to as a weed...lol. I've grown it in my gardens for years and have NEVER seen it called a weed before.

At any rate- your image of it is really nicely done. Focus especially on the seed head is good....marvelous detail there. It's well exposed...it's a bit more yellow than the ones I've seen and grown but yellow can be a touchy color so that may be the issue. Was this a large crop?? I'm wondering b/c there seems to be quite a bit of noise in the background. It's a really lovely image nonetheless. Best of luck w/ it in the contest.

I would it never call weed either, but this is always in the eye of the beholder. I found the plant growing wild on a road side in Central Texas among Mullen and Knap Weed. There were several plants, but it was not a large crop.

That is so interesting....I grow Mullen and Knap Weed in my gardens as well and you find them growing along the roadside! Very welcome for the review. Good luck!!

Yep! along the roadside, all three of them.

Wow....you guys have wonderful things alongside your roads in Texas...lol

Sometimes, but there is a lot of not so beautiful things. Trash and abandoned goods do not look nice in nature.
reply by PeglegDeb on 16-Jul-2017
Oh I know what you mean. Another reason I adore my little place here.....NEVER any trash or abandoned junk....NEVER...lol But then there's no-one but me for as far as I can see...and then some.

I almost envy you, but it seems lonely.
reply by PeglegDeb on 16-Jul-2017
Oh not at all. I have no problem w/ hanging out w/ myself....lol and, of course I have Comanche. Now I WOULD be lonely w/o her for sure.

Comanche is a beautiful dog, I can see it in the picture on your profile page. :o)

A beautiful picture of these Golden Tickseed blooming in the long grasses with their reddish brown centre & golden yellow petals contrasting with the green grass. Beautiful composition framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.
