This is an excellent take of the center of a bright flower.

The camera technique displays the center of this bloom very well. I think though I would have come in a little tighter. Perhaps cropping away more from the right and left. Maybe even changing to a Macro lens and concentrating on the center alone. After all the contest is about the center of the flower.

The DOF is very good for the center details but begins to fall off as the eye moves away from the center. The background is even and provides great bokeh.

There is a lot of light reflected from the top portion of the petals. Perhaps the addition of polarizer would reduce the reflected glare and at the same time enhanced the details of the center.

In the strictest sense the criteria of the contest has been met. However there is not a great deal of image support from the petals and the background.
