Nice up close portrait. It's very real looking. Just wish maybe there was some background but very good overall. Good luck to you in the contest.

Thank you much for your review and kind wishes. I painted the background indefinite and unobstrusive in order to emphasize the portrait. :o)

OMG - this one is your very best under the very best as it really looks like a photograph - I first thought it was place into the wrong section - you have really become a master - this portrait is just stunning with all the perfect shades on his skin and the excellent detail work on his hair - every single little detail is well defined - a fantastic initial impact , excellent use of space and perfect in any aspect , well done

Excellent digital art painting to go along with the great story you've included. You have created such realistic facial features on this teacher it almost looks as if its a colored photograph. Great techniques applied. Great talent you have. Well done

Wow! This is a fantastic digital painting and a wonderful tribute to this very special teacher, his face is very well shaped with good facial structure and dimension, the texture of his skin realistically shown, his facial features are well suited to his face and well created, his hair is realistic and uncombed, he wears glasses with amber lenses ! His expression is of a kind man, I like the side profile allowing all of the details to show, impressive to see his mouth and teeth , his facial lines, his ears, all very well created and impressive to view! I'm glad you revived this post, I feel fortunate for the opportunity to view!

Cleo, this is a great portrait of the unusual teacher indeed! You've created it with your talent and special ability of seeing the individual characters. The colors are gorgeous. The composition is perfect! The strokes are making the forms very well! Sorry for not having any sixes to award this one as well. Bravo Cleo!!!

What a Great work of digital art Cleo. I am very glad that you revived this one.

Fabulous commentary and very interesting. It the information true? Did you meet him?

The details are very well done as the lines in the face and neck look very real. I like the sunglasses he is wearing.

Very well done Cleo. Great work here ~ Steve

Yes, I meet him. It was by coincidence many years ago. It was deep in the jungle of the Yucatan when I was translating for the Doctors without Borders. Unfortunately, I lost contact with him.

WOW Cleo this really does have that striking impact what a vision and piece of art!
The skin tones are amazing and the hair has real movemnt within it and that espression along with all the bone structure is a superb I would ahve given a 6 if it were not for that lighter part on the top of the head and just above it!

Cleo,
A beautiful portrait of this wonderful Yucatan teacher. He seem to "jump out" of your canvas in three dimensions . I'd not be surprised if his lips started to move & sound come out of his mouth. Created by your artist's eye for composition knowledge of digital painting techniques, beautiful choice blending & application of your colours in bringing this gentleman to life.
