This is an excellent close up. That little purple flower adds just enough pop of color and so does the red streak on the butterfly. your focus, framing, and lighting are all beautifully done. I like the blurry background as well, it makes the butterfly stand out even more. Well done and thanks again fro sharing :)

This is gorgeous, Lori! I absolutely love that there is only one simple flower that has attracted this butterfly...whether that was the true capture or you designed it that way. Excellent choice! The initial impact for me is that white stripe on that beautiful black butterfly which leads me to that curl of his 'tongue'. An experience all alone..just viewing the detail you have in this shot: the legs, the veins in the wings, the antennae and the eye ..all incredible!
Your colors are lovely. With a nice contrast in your bg in textures and colors. Almost a bit interfering...but not. Anyones opinion would differ on that.
Your framing has given this vertical composition just the right feel..with the diagonal green stem. And again..that lone lavender flower is placed subtly in a secondary place....but it is still daring to steel the show. Love it!! Excellent work!

A very nice looking butterfly that is shown in excellent detail. I like the blue porter weed he is perched on and the soft background is beautiful.

A wonderful close up of this elegant and beautiful butterfly, positioned perfectly on the only flower visible on the green stem it has rested on - great timing and incredible detail showing not only the colours and patterns in depth, but the structure of the body too. Set against a light brown background which makes it stand out well with no distraction - great shot :)

Nice work on this. Well positioned in the frame. Colors are eye appealing. I like the nice bokeh background and angled stem. A little noise around the edges but a very pretty shot.
