Well..I went back through your portfolio and found one I missed....since you are too busy to have time to post the beautiful flowers you are working on so lovingly. Are you singing to them? That supposedly works better than fertilizer. :D

this is glorious....your overall framing and diagonal movement of the stem is a strong impact of rme. At first glance the flowers seem soft in clarity...until I look closer and see that as the actual texture of the petals. And pistil and stamen are as sharp as a tack.

Your bg is artfully accomplished. You are very much aware of that these days. This one looks like one someone may choose from their library of paste ins. It is just so perfect....in colors, in textures, in light and shadows. I know it is the real thing from you. Beautifully simple be Bellflower. thank you for sharing.

I take these pretty little guys for granted Becky...probably b/c I have a really deep purple variety that blossoms just after them and the dark ones are just absolutely stunning. In fact, I don't believe I photographed these guys here even once last season. Such a shame too b/c they have the most lovely golden look....literally, they shine. And I sing constantly while I'm working outside...lol....then starting in Sept/Oct I leave the radio on 24hrs/day to discourage the bears who are big time into gorging themselves before they den up for the winter....so yes, my flowers hear rock-n-roll for months and I think they like it...ahaha

Both my posting AND reviewing has taken a knock this week. Mid August snuck up on me...damn but summer is almost over. Well, I have taken enough photos to easily last an entire FAR winter. Thank you Becky for going back and looking at this one and for giving it such a fine review. I ALWAYS enjoy your reviews of my flowers.

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!
Holy Classy Clustered Bellflower Doc! This is stunning.
I love the diagonal Placement and the Sa-wa-eeeeet DOF all within a nicely framed Square crop.
Your focus is Sharp, white balance Controlled on all colors in the bright sun and details are crisp I can see a teeny tiny wee bug in the flower in the foreground.
I really like how the petals have soft glittery like diamond dusting.
OUTSTANDING flower Photography with fine camera techs.
Fine capture Dr.Ling!

Now this was a surprise Sange. I have had so much trouble w/ my internet the past couple of days I couldn't get to my reviews and when I finally do I find you have given this one just the most wonderful OUTSTANDING review!! Thank you so much for the detail and I agree- the glittery look of this blossom is one of my favorite things about it. So Dr. Ling is VERY pleased you liked it as well and soooo appreciates the review AND the shiny gold star. Thank you Sange.

I know the flower, they look indeed like beell's. You found the right blossoms and the right angle to photograph them. The photo shows the bell shape of the joined petals and the pistil which resembles the club inside a bell perfectly.
Their natural colors are nicely emphasized by the dark background.

Do you know Cleo I never even thought of how much the pistil resembled the inside clapper of a bell. Good eye!! I am always so pleased when you comment on one of my flower pieces and thank you so much for the really wonderful review you've given this one...and, of course, the extra sparkle too. I do really appreciate it Cleo.

Thank you so much MK. They always stop dancing once they see me out and about w/ my camera in hand. One of these days I'm going to sneak up on them and catch them doing the same things YOUR flowers do...lol

Deborah,
A beautiful picture of these beautiful blue Canterbury bells ( Campula) as we call them on this side of the Pond... Beautiful composition framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & razor sharp focus.

The centers of these flowers are very pretty. I also like the shape of the petals, and of course the color is attractive too. The texture almost has a glittery looking quality and I think the deep lines down the center of the petals make this flower even more interesting.

This pretty little flower doesn't get much attention from me Grace. Really spent some time w/ it the other day trying to get a nice image of it so you noticing all the wonderful things about it (especially it's glittery look) has made me very happy. Thanks so much for checking it out and for the lovely review you've given it. I do appreciate it!
