This is indeed a beautiful flower, and I especially like the perspective you used when taking the photo. The background is also nicely softened for the flower to stand out in an excellent way.

I do however think your focus could have been sharper for the stamens and pistil to stand out better, but it is nothing wrong with the exposure.

The cropping on each side is a bit tight in my opinion, but I appreciate that this is a matter of taste. An all together lovely and well taken photo with a very good DOF, but it should have been sharper. Still I wish you luck with the contest.

Well done! Your framing and lighting are excellent. It's funny because some areas of the photo are in perfect focus, while other areas are soft in focus. I don't know if this was intentional or not, but I actually like the look of it. You did a great job :) Thanks for sharing this with us :)

Love the angle in particular how you captured this bloom....not head on and not from above looking down....but rather more from its right coming in sort of with a bang because you defiantly wanted to capture the center. Capturing it this way caused some of the blooms to become less focused, which was probably done intentionally to give it that effect that it has...making the rest of the flower stand out even more so....Looks vibrant and filling the entire frame with it was a perfect call. This is a nice shot.....from the exposure, contrast, highlights and shadows to it tight cropping and overall composition.
Nicely done. Thanks for sharing.

Looks like a pretty large flower. I like the unique select focus you placed on the bottom petals. To me it adds to the grandiosity of the flower, making it look even larger.

pity the focus on the half top of the photo is so soft, it takes from the initial impact

good angle of shot

Cool,Mary Eileen!
It's an attractive Flower indeed,my friend, and the small flashes of color on the blossom's petals remind me of rust stains on white silk!
