I love your Robin photo. So innocent, young and pretty. I see the chest beginning as I have photographed many Robins. Love the green in photo with contrast to the pretty, innocent bird. Very clear bird with that blurred background

Yes, in a week or two it will be sporting a handsome red breast! Your shot has good exposure and it's sharp, with fine composition. Nicely taken!

Cool,Susan!
I haven't seen one of these little birds since I was in Europe in the military several decades ago so I'm really enjoying your fine looking picture of this one!
'Good Show',my friend!

You have pictured this little one so well, and even if the chest is not red yet, it is easy to see that it is a Robin. I think it is really cure the way it is posing for you, and it is standing out so well against the nicely softened background.

Your focus is also spot on and sharp and it is such clear and well defined details to be seen in every part of the bird. I also think the exposure is very good.

The cropping works well and I think the bird has got a fine placement within the frame. I think this is a truly sweet and well taken photo Susan, and with a very good DOF.

    Annie,
Thanks a million for your thoughtful & detailed review on this cheeky little Robin. I was working in the Garden today & it was following me around I managed to get four pictures from a distance of a little more than a metre away, one of which I'll post tomorrow.
    Thanks again.

Too cute Susan! I know we have Robin's here, but when we found them way out West at the Wetlands, they hide in the trees and fly away like a bat out of hell.
So I have never gotten close to an adult let alone a wee one like this.
Nice focus, fine eye clarity and great Details on this Little guy.
Nice work Susan ;)

    Sange,
Thanks a million for your great review on this cheeky Robin. I got a picture of it today out in the garden just four feet away from me. It came right up to my feet but moved faster than the camera or the Old One holding it. Our Robins are just about the size of a House Sparrow & quiet like humans...in fact they often prefer humans to other Robins. They are extreemly territorial.

A fine shot in an attractive setting. The image is sharp and you can sure see the beginnings of his red breast. Too bad you had to add the wire to your feeder cage to reduce the size of the openings.

A superb picture of this little young Robin, looking very cute with it's molting chest slowly developing from the greyish down and lighter orange colours to what will soon be it's proud red breast that gives it it's name! a rare shot and captured with good clarity and timing, with good DOF and positioning too - a lovely shot showing one of the stages of the life cycle of this lovely little bird. Great shot Susan, well done :)

    Elmundo,
Thanks a million for your great review on this little Robin that is now a frequent visitor to my garden already I've seen it chase off it's parent & sibling it they try to feeder from the same feeder at the same time.
I marvel that I usually see up to four Robins per year maturing in my garden despite the visiting three cats that Juno~Dog chases off when ever she spies them.

You're very welcome! Haha you're lucky you've got so many, we've got a couple of frequent visitors but until I get my zoom lens to fiddle about with and get to grips with I can't capture any birds so I look forward to being able to add birds to my list of photographic possibilities! :)

I use a Panasonic Lumix compact camera with a 20 x Zoom almost all my pictures are taken using the auto setting.
I liked you picture of Whitby Harbour. I was born many many moons ago in a long closed Nursing Home on Chubb Hill in Whitby..... I was only there for two weeks & sadly have never been back. One day???

Aww bless you so you have long lost ties with the place then.....you should definitely go back there, although I'll be honest pick your time right - perhaps midweek and not in the midst of summer as I was a little disappointed to say the least how it has changed - there was a lot of rubbish, loutish people and an uncomfortable feel to it, which is the first time I have experienced that there in all the years I've been going, although haven't been properly for 4 years or so until a few weeks ago when I took that shot.

Good capture of the bird and good position of him in the frame, just pity the background is so busy and bright

try to reduce the light on the background
thanks for sharing
