This is a lovely shot of the bird! You have framed it well. The light and shadows, colours and the composition have worked well. Good effort!

Beautiful photograph! I love the way the mottling on the bird is echoed in the rough surface of the sidewalk. Nice balanced composition and sense of depth. Great job!

    Lauren,
Thanks a million for your great review on this juvenile European Rob that is in the process of loosing it's juvenile speckled plumage as it acquires it's Red breast with blue grey fringe around it & brown back feathers. If you look closely you can see the red breast starting to appear.
It's standing on a piece of Granite in my Rockery not on the pavement/sidewalk.

Thanks a million for your complementary review. they are fearless little birds where humans are concerned but fearsome to another Robin daring to enter it's territory that both sexes hold out of the breeding season.

This is lovely, Susan. Excellent capture of the beautiful little Robin in your garden. You can guess how small he is by the size of the background foliage. He looks so cute! Excellent lighting and focus showing great clarity. Lovely composition. Suzanne

    Dicson,
thanks a million for your great review.
These Robins are NOT afraid of humans on the whole especially if you are working in the garden & they think you might turn up Grubs or mean Worms as you disturb the soil.
On one occasion I was litterallly within six inches of a newly fledged Robin with a mean worm wriggling in it's tiny beak.

What a nice close up of such a cutie! I like how well his tiny claws show and the details of his face and on his breast feathers are attractive.

Yes, we find that robins will come quite close to us providing that we are not moving. Your image is well composed, sharp and has good exposure. Nicely done!

    Nik,
Thanks a million for your complementary review on this very cheeky Robin that several time flew right over my head & landed in a branch not a foot away. The other Robin I posted the day before with only one tail feather has lost it now. It was flying around at the same time as this juvenile but was moving faster so I was unable to capture it. I just got the rock it was perched on!!!
