Good Renate-Bertodi,
Hello!
I have a suggestion -- the wall behind the rocking horse could be continued on the other side of the toy to add depth.
Good job!

I love the colors and forms on this one.
It's figurative and abstract as well as one figure blends/ flows into the next.
The hues and shades are balanced and lead you around the piece.
Very nice.

Your art work so creative and different....you make the viewer study them. Your colors so lovely and the way you see things unique. I like that your image tells your story. Your water colors are incredible with excellent blending and shading of colors. A wonderful composition and movement and depth in your art work. Outstanding work and thanks for sharing. Worthy of a six star!

A very elegant modernistic watercolour painting. A departure from your usual figurative works. This makes for a lovely still life painting. Very creative. I'm loving it. Thanks for sharing!

Love your abstract work that is such a joy to view and take in all the elements. Enjoy your abstract plants that evolve out of the flexible wicker basket, toy rocking horse and clock. Enjoy also the soft pastel colors and your wonderful title. A very charming and beautiful watercolor art work. Thank You for sharing.

We americans call the stone shelf above the fireplace a mantel. That's the place you sit things like that. Wink

a mantle in English is a ''cover'' too, but not necessarily a fireplace cover. I have had great laughs in USA with language, once years ago, I wanted to post some postcards- I looked for the post box, could not find anything. Went to the Hotel desk, there she said, I looked ? no postbox-- three times I did this-- suddenly I saw it MAIL DROP.. so simple but we just would not call it that..

mantel piece is a separate piece but this is really the top of the fire, stone...

seems you are correct, and mine is a regional difference, I am from Lincolnshire-- the OXFORD dictionary describes it thus--a structure of wood, marble, or stone ABOVE and around a fireplace.
a mantelshelf. This is the actual fireplace! if that makes any difference..
