Beautiful! The sharpness, lighting and rich colors certainly makes this image a piece of art. You have captured a nice pose that allows both facial features and plumes to be appreciated. The nice greens and sporadic branches sets the scene and allows this beauty to be presented in this natural environment. Great technicals and compositional elements.

The nice greens and sporadic branches sets the scene and allows this beauty to be presented in this natural environment. Great technicals and compositional elements.

This bird is truly beautiful and you have pictured it so well. The feathers looks like silk, and the bird is posing for you in such an elegant way with the characteristic S-shape of the neck. It is also standing out really well against the nicely softened background.
Your photo is also nice and sharp and it is such clear and well defined details to be seen both in the feathers and the head of the bird. It is nothing wrong with the exposure either.
The format and framing is perfect and the bird has got a fine placement off to the left, and this of course makes for a good and well balanced composition. Indeed a lovely and well taken photo, and with a very good DOF.

There are many photos taken of Herons but this one is the best I've seen. Wonderful clarity. Love the colors. Great composition and framing. Nice bokey in background. Very nice!

An exquisitely photographed bird.
The bill and eye are tack sharp as are all the feathers from top to bottom.
All of the immediate foreground aspects are in fine focus and show a wide tonal range.
The DOF is just right, foreground sharp and detailed and then gradually falls off to t a soft background bokeh that keeps the viewers attention of the bird.
A well framed and presented composition ... B-)) Bob
