A very nice shot. The cropping is excellent and the colors are outstanding. I like the texture in the leaf and the great veins. Best of luck in the contest.

Whatever it is it looks pretty big! Where it is I have no idea!, Your full and central composition grants us a great look at your leaf. Exposure and sharpness are fine. Well done and good luck!

You for sure found an impressive leaf to photograph for this contest. I especially like how well the fine textures of the leaf is brought out, and also the almost heart shape of it.

Your photo is also nice and sharp showing such clear and well defined details in every part of the leaf. I also think the exposure is fine.

I like how the leaf is filling the frame but still think the cropping is a bit too tight. A matter of taste of course. An all together lovely and well taken photo, and I wish you luck with the contest.

Thank you Annie. I was trying to eliminate other leaves in the frame with the cropping - cause the contest said "One Leaf" - didn't want to be disqualified.

Ha! Love your title! This is a Caladium. And you have done a fantastic job capturing the beauty in it's leaf....as that is what they lend to a garden..their colorful leaves.

Your lighting is controlled perfectly..no unseemly reflections or shadows to interfere with the detail you have capture of this beautiful leaf.

Your vertical framing works perfectly here...showing just enough of the deep colors in the bg and the bit of a second leaf. Perhaps Eve could use that one! :D

A pleasure to view. Thanks for sharing and good luck in the contest!

A beautiful picture of this white leaf with green veins set against the dark background not a Fig leaf but beautiful all the same. Beautiful composition framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.
Good luck in the contest.

:):) Amusing indeed! This is a nice shot of the figleaf! You have framed it well. The light, colour and the composition have worked well. Good luck!

Aptly captured for the contest theme...
Excellent choice of subject.
I gues there's no rule about the
Singularity of the lone leaf subject.

Subtle illumination.
Crisp & clear venation lines.

Pin sharp focusing.
Compact framing.
Best of luck in the contest!

Thanks for sharing...

Isolating this single leaf is a great idea. It makes for great initial impact.

The color range is near monochrome but the primary shade is easy to look at.

Camera settings show this leaf at its best.

Highly detailed clear and crisp focusing.

DOF is not a consideration in this close up.

If yuo come across a leaf of similar proportions again here's something to consider. Back light the leaf with natural light if possible. But a bright flashlight will do just as well.

I think you be surprised by what you can see.

This is a good entry for this contest ... B-)) Bob
