Wherever did you find this beauty? In the USA? Your position as the photographer is excellent. I just want to pet this bird! Such cheerful and rich colors against a muted background. This should have been a contest entry somewhere!

Thank you very much for your nice comments! This is one of the birds at our Como Zoo & Arboretum. They are originally from South America -where I will probably not get to visit in this lifetime :)

Superb eye clarity drawing the eye into this scene. Your lighting is excellent capturing beautiful colors of this gorgeous bird. Your focus is spot on and sharp with wonderful details of the feathers and markings. Your artistic background and choice of aperture are perfect. Is this a wild bird in your part of the world? It looks a bit like an African Golden Weaver Bird. It is a great shot in any event. The composition is very nice with that diagonal perch and the bird is shown in fine detail and great color.

Thanks Mike for your nice comments. This is a South American bird that resides at our Como zoo & Arboretum. He does look like the golden weaver, except without the red eyes. You know your birds!

I love yellow finches. They seem like a very sweet bird. We have a few that visit our backyard. This is a fine example - great color and DOF. Nice composition too. Good work.
