Beautiful Capture Susan! It has a fantastic Painterly look in the sky.
Fine focus, Exposure and Superb POV with great colors and details.
Perfect timing!

    Sange,
Thanks a million for your complementary review on this mountain sunset that I prayed would not have faded too much, until I got to this spot on the road five miles from my home.

Totally awesome sun set! That sky is breath taking to say the least! I wish there had been a little more light on the trees but still it's a great picture

What a vibrant and eye catching scene Susan. The Rays of the setting sun causing those shadows really adds to the illuminated clouds. Nicely done Susan ~ Steve

A beautiful scene. The gentle slope of the hillside compliments the horizontal structure of the clouds nicely. The light in the sky is beautiful and the colors could not be better.

I wish I had a six left, but they sure don't last long. The clouds are beautiful. Is that the ocean a bit before the sky begins? Sunsets and sunrises are spectacular!

Thanks a million for your great review on this mountain Sunset with a glimpse of Dublin city on the right where the dark mountain ends under that grey cloud. You cannot see the Irish sea in this picture.

OMG! What a breath-taking scene! A splendid capture. One can see God's hand in creating one of His best loved scenes. You have framed it well. Light and sharpness are very effective in creating a lovely capture. Thanks for sharing

Oh my gosh, I've no 6*'s left until the US's time catches up with us but certainly a cyber 6 for this piece Susan, it really visually knocked me back as my brain verified and adjusted to what was going on here. The biggest contrast in colours and scenery/imagery I've ever seen in one photograph I think! The sunset is unbelievable, and your capture of it is well timed and with astonishing accuracy and great long DOF. The change from the peaceful and pretty normal countryside scene with low lighting and nice tones of green show a nice landscape view, then above, in the sky and clouds, something amazing is occurring that certainly I've never seen the likes of to this extreme - it's as though the sky and clouds are reaching across and from the left and creating some kind of apocalyptic storm above - the colours are superb and the detail in the shapes and patterns utterly sublime. What a wonderful scene to capture on camera, this would definitely be on a wall in my house - I reckon National Geographic would be interested if I'm honest!! what more can I say, easily my favourite from your amazing portfolio and a truly breathtaking example of how nature presents itself when it feels like it! :)

    Ed,
Thanks a million both for your complementary review & your thoughtfully worded remarks. It was spectacular watching it develop lower down the mountains my only hope was that I'd reach this point in the rod before the colours faded. It's just about 20 minutes away by car from my house. Would you like a Copy?? NO Charge.
