Artists come in many types and you are careful and meticulous, and therefore produce excellent work. Unlike me, who just looks around or thinks and produces. Fields are as you say, difficult, as how do you distinguish them from each other.

Thank you very much for your comments and six vote. I have finished three paintings in this collection of paintings of the Grand Canyon. They all have been time consuming and tedious, and frustrating to complete. I have one left to do before I am finished with the canyon collection. Other paintings have interceded. I think I am avoiding finishing the collection, at least for now.

A well thought out composition with meticulous attention to the minutest details.
I like the fading bluish backdrop denoting perspective of distance.
Diminishing perspective.
Vanishing viewpoint creates great depth.
Fantabulous masterpiece!

Thank you very much. This painting took me about 215 hours of painting time over a three month period of time. It is not possible for me to count how much thinking time it took. It was a lot.

Usually photos of the canyon lose a bit of that it's nice to see how you bring its many hues to life. A very well done composition too with a nice balance of sky, canyon, and overlook plus that inviting pathway. A really excellent job.

It is quite a task to take on to paint this magnificent landscape. I have never been to this place myself, but I have seen a lot of photos, and I think you have done a really good job.
I especially like the dramatic looking sky, but perhaps a bit too much of it in this painting. I also think your brush strokes are very good and all the fine textures that has been brought out.
Very good use of high lights as well, and I like your color pallet.
As already mentioned I think the composition would have gained from a bit less sky, but fully appreciate that this also could be a matter of taste. An all together truly lovely and well done painting.
