Such an unassuming blossom during the day RV but it just shines once the sun goes down. I appreciate you checking out my new piece and thank you for the very fine review you've given it.

Your use of light is fantastic. Silvery moonlight glowing in a flower. The limitation of colors and that the flower is upside down emphasize somehow the special mood of this photo.

I loved it too b/c it was upside down Cleo. I took photos of them going in every direction but THIS one, by far, is my favorite. ...and they ARE really special once the sun goes down. I am always interested to see what you think of my flowers and thank you so much Cleo for giving this guy such an outstanding review AND a gold star. I so appreciate both.

My goodness, DFL...! This is stunning. This is the play of light and shadows that attracts my artistic taste every time. The deep and hidden beauty is the one that appears in the least amount of light...or should I say the smartest applied and least amount of light. And you certainly are a master of that with your own fashioned light sources. Are you fashioning your own light reflectors/filters now as well? Or knowing you..the neighboring plants are providing that for your naturally. This should be in a gallery of photographers' bests. As I think this is one of yours. This would certainly sell once printed and framed...big time. Amazing....awe inspiring and All Deb!! Wow~

No...no reflectors Becky.....but the huge rock in this bed (as big as a VW bug) makes it easy for me to put the light exactly where I want it....and shine it where I want. On top of that I can sometimes rest my camera on it at night (it's well known that I loathe dragging a tri-pod out to the gardens...lol)

Calendar page (maybe even the cover for a few) for this guy for sure. And thank you so much for 'helping' it along too. You're a sweetheart.

Its like the flowers that you see on the movie "avatar". Very cool. The clarity is great. The capture of the light is great. The angle of the shot of this glowing flower is great. The image is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. Good eye and great job overall

and most of them have a wonderful smell;

I have been disappointed several times by 'hardy' varieties that did not survive the winter here sg. But every few years I give in and try another one....lol....just a glutton for punishment I guess. Perhaps this winter I'll check specifically for Northern European varieties and try again next season. Thank you so much for checking this guy out and for the lovely review. I do appreciate it sg.

awww....you and your Pat are very kind Ed. You would be surprised at how unpretentious these blossoms look during the day....you might not give them a second glance.
