A beautiful specimen. I like the thistle flower as well as the sharp detail from wing tip to to the antennae. Great colors and cropping that might be a touch too tight. Best of luck in the contest.

A beautiful shot of this monarch butterfly in all it's glory, captured with great clarity and fantastic detail and colour as it perches on this purple thistle flower, contrasting nicely with the intricate patterns and colours of the butterfly beautifully, as well as against the dull grey background. Lighting is perfect and the cropping is tight , showing all the detail but leaving no distraction to the subject. A great shot and best of luck in the competition! :)

thanks so much to your great comments,,some did say I cropped a bit too tight,,but I want to make sure about the 25 percent rule lol
