Wow! This oil is so filled with DOF, the flowing dress is almost 3D. Love the reflection and the black background that also helps with the depth. She appears to be either sitting or doing a curtsey. The scene is very cool.

I love "Swan", who may have some flaws; but overcomes with her elegance and grace.Framing is good. Reflection with a light touch and not overdone. Shadowing all around on the dress and face set the mood for this pleased viewer. Congrats on a job well done. Also your subdued colors strong but subtle.

A nice traditional oil painting.
I like the limited palette. It draws the viewer in to explore the piece.
The movement and brushstrokes are pretty good.
If I changed anything, I perhaps add a little more wisps of texture in the background instead of solid black (except for the floor).
Also, she seems a little to stiff and blocky. It's as if you are not committed to your brushstrokes and slightly tentative.
Your drawings always have such strong strokes and commitment.
This seems more tentative to me.
Great work though!

Hi jes...This is a lovely work. Your typical form of the body is as always...proportioned expertly and yet not sharply defined. The same with your figures facial features. Sometimes you use them as the focal point and other times you do not. I think the dress and the reflection are the initial impact for me here. You have captured the essence of flowing fabric in this garment with your artistic view and placement of light and shadows and various shades of white. The reflection is stunning. Very lovely work. Thank you for sharing. !

Cool,James!
While it's not exactly the type of thing that I go raving nuts over it's a very attractive painting nonetheless and the classic 'Gleaming White on Jet Black' coloration looks Great!
'Good Show',my friend! : )
