Great lighting and appealing variations of soft greens to appreciate. Most of all, however, the arches of beautiful lines that pull the eye into the frame with their lovely design is what really catches my eye. Very nice warmth and appealing selective focus found within your frame.

Interesting notes.
Fantabulous weird plant with so many plantlets lining up its succulent foliage!

An interesting initial impact.
Verdant overtone!
Aptly captured for the contest theme...
Impressive entry. Potential voters choice... Should take more votes at the poll booth!
Nice perspective & narrow DOF.
Thanks for sharing...

Oh I loved this one Cleo. Had no idea who's it was but it got my vote in the contest.

Excellent notes- thank you for that. Knew it must be a succulent but not one I was familiar with. You did up this photo beautifully btw. Nice crisp focus.....wonderful detail. It's well exposed and your crisp presentation of those two stems w/ all the others softly in the background is just perfect. Do you grow it as a houseplant or is it in your outside gardens?? I just may have to check it out for my gardens next season....I think it would look wonderful growing along some of my rock wall edges.

Very nicely done here Cleo. Really lovely color as well. Got my vote AND going to get my first gold star of the week as well!

Deborah

Not to worry Cleo. You are very welcome. This looks like a great plant. Is it a houseplant at your place or out in your gardens??

I should have kept it in the house. It was doing well even in our dessert climate for three years, but did not survive the unusual freezing [28 F] of last winter. I was not able to replace it jet. :o(

ah...so it would HAVE to be a houseplant. That's what I wondered. I like it a lot though....bet it would make a nice hanging plant. Will have to keep an eye out for it.

They do not sell it in the US. I could not find it. I got it from the Botanical Garden, but it seemed the Garden has lost it last winter also. I am on the outlook still.

Let me know if you find it Cleo please

Just looked it up Cleo. This is a KALANCHOE daigremontiana (variety name was wrong) Looks like they sell it on Amazon, Etsy and a few other places. Type KALANCHOE daigremontiana IN YOUR BROWSER.

No it isn't. My species was tropical, the same which grows wild at the Yucatan. It was sold in the past here, but it is not sold in the US because the species is on the "Invasive Weed" list. [I bought one, they sold as daigremontiana, but the Texas climate seems to hot for it, even as I took it into the house. [Right now its 85 F in my living room]. I am used to it, by my plants seem more sensitive then I am.

Very interesting submission for this contest and a delightful background story. I love succulents and have many of my own. This, though, looks so rare and fine. I've never seen anything so intricate before. Amazing shot and great entry for the contest. Best of luck.

nice piece~
Very nice detail and color. The leading lines draw your eye right into the shot. The shadowing and exposure is spot on.
Well done

I am fascinated by the leaf pattern with those notches on the edges.
A first view for me of this plant and a fine entry to this color green contest.
Nice focus, exposure and fab DOF.
Good luck :)
