Did you ever identify this flower? It looks like a Mexican orange blossom to me but I am not sure, I don't think the leaves are the same. I really like your work on these leaves. Your use of the knife has created such attractive textures that make me want to reach out touch the plant!

Thank you very much for your encouraging review. No, I did not identify the flower, You are right, it looks like an Orange blossom, but it is not one. Those flowers are way smaller then orange blossoms.

Excellent, floral leafs with a tiny splash of what I call a Forget me not but know this is not true. It doesn't grow from such a large leaf, I think. Enjoy the abstract look feel to your image and the muted lush green background. I also love the way your center leafs vain draws the eye down to the small flower. Thank You for sharing my friend and good luck.

Nice, intimate image.
The flower looks so delicate in the vast sea of green.
I feel like it is a reminder to practice mindfulness in all things.
Nice, thoughtful image.
The brush strokes and tone add to the feel of it.
Well done.

Wow! This is a fine entry into the Green Contest and good luck to you. I like the richness and texture of the green leaves with your many shades of green and yellow. I like the way you have added shadows and your contrast to light and dark has created depth and interest in your art work. Beautiful use of vertical frame with the one lone white flower. A excellent composition with good movement in your art work. This is outstanding work and thanks for sharing!

Small flower works for me. The lush green foliage fills the scene with feel of the tropics. The star flower is a nice focal of the scene. The diagonal slant of the main stem works well in giving lift to the leaves. Interesting!

Hi Anon

This is a nice entry into this contest with the little white flower shining resplendently in a sea of green. Excellent work and I wish you luck finding it's name. I haven't a clue either unfortunately! R

Hmm a difficult one to identify, it could be a forget-me-not of some type of you google it but it's hard to judge depending on the size etc if you composed the piece from a photo. Either way a lovely, lush green piece with the stem and white flower and buds giving the only contrast, other than the range of tones of dark to light green in the piece itself, carefully blended and merged very well. A great entry and best of luck in the competition! :)

I its a woody bush about 5 ft high. The green leaves are about 20 cm [7 inches long]. I tried to Google it, but so far without success.

I will do! Are you in the USA or U.K.?
reply by the author on 04-Sep-2017
Thank you! I am in the southern part of the USA, but this bush is not necessary native to the area. It could be introduced from somewhere else.

It looks most likely a White Oleander flower that is just beginning to bloom - google "White Oleander flower" and look at the images and see what you think :)
reply by the author on 05-Sep-2017
Yes, it has similarities, but it is not Oleander. The blossoms of Oleander have a different center. The corolla is united in a tube. The full sized flower in the painting is about only 7 mm across. It might be a young Olive, but I have to search on olives, to be sure.
