White 'Tea ROSE'

A nice, crisp close up shot of this brilliant specimen of a white rose in full bloom, or "Tea Rose" as you call it - a term I haven't heard before but I like! the subdued lighting and sharp clarity bring out the finer details wonderfully, showing the folds and veins in the petals and each curve of the petals sharply, with the lighting as such that it catches the shadows very well throughout. The purple flower to the bottom right gives a good contrast and perspective, and the dark background accentuates the neatly cropped piece even further. A lovely shot, good work Deb :)

Nice pic. Sharpness and color is good. You could have avoided narrowing the image. Else, it has come out really cool. Hope you had a good tea time

New member sreesha? Not a name I have seen before. Have no idea what you mean by "avoided narrowing the image" or perhaps auto-correct changed what you meant to say? At any rate, thank you for checking out my latest piece and welcome to FAR.

Beautiful, simply beautiful. If only a live rose could be frozen in this state forever. Ah, what a beautiful world this would be. This is the quintessential rose opening and deserves to be the only point of focus for the picture. That little pink shadowy area on the lower right is a nice variation of the dark background. These are the reasons for my five vote.

Ah...new member, yes? I am sure I would remember your by-line Carl! I like it. The 'little pink shadowy area' is a couple of the smaller pink Tea ROSES I also cut that day.....squeezing their way into the photo! lol Thank you so much for checking out my latest piece.....and I do appreciate the lovely review you've given it.

Good artists notes and storytelling with your image. Thanks for sharing these gorgeous rose with us. Perfectly framed and captured. Your focus is spot on and sharp on every part of this gorgeous white rose. Your lighting and details on this rose are stunning. A perfect aperture blurring background and compliment your overall photography. This is very nice work and thanks for sharing.

Neil I will be beyond honored when you find time to paint one of my flowers. I hope you know that. ...and I don't believe you could have said anything nicer than how I am "able to capture the heart of every flower" awwww....b/c that is EXACTLY what I strive for w/ every single image. This is a 'saver' review (believe me I don't save them all!) Thank you so very much for having a look....for writing such a heartfelt review....and for sharing a gold star w/ my pretty little blossom. You are a peach!!!

This is a great photo. I love the detail, I just feel like there is something missing. I would have liked to seen the flower pop off my screen. Maybe a little more vibrant it has kinda a dullness to it.

Dullness jg? hmnnn It IS a white flower after all.....not going to be as vibrant as a brightly colored one you understand? Do appreciate you checking out my new piece even if we don't completely agree on it's 'vibrancy'...lol

The growing season is ridiculously short here in Northern Vermont Martha so I don't need a killer frost any earlier than normal. Do appreciate you checking out my new piece and thank you for the very fine review you've given it.

LOL - The deer eat my roses before they even enjoy the "Sun". A beautiful image Deb - I like the gradient light sweeping across it. Nice detail and depth. Lucky girl to be able to grow beauties like this.

Oh these babies take an inordinate amount of work Kathy.....which I rather grudgingly give them..... I probably wouldn't replace them once they go to the 'big garden in the sky'...lol And the deer around here (there's a ton of them too) are more interested in my Apple Trees fortunately. Always happy to have you check out one of my pieces. Thank you so much for such a lovely review.

Oh know. Frost, I don't like to hear that word either. You might did just right to cut the roses early. One frost comes seldom alone, and you might would have to cut them soon anyway. So you have a wonderful bouquet, and I guess you have at least a dozen photo of Tea Roses beside this one. I like how the light illuminates the cream colored center and brings the textures out. The close crop amplified the beauty of the rose in the process of opening.

You are so right Cleo! I have a gorgeous bouquet sitting there on my wood stove....my house smells divine and lol I DO have a batch of beautiful photos of my Tea ROSES! Thank you so much for having a look at my new piece and also for the very lovely review you've given it. Hopefully things are slowing down just a bit now (this is THE busiest time of the year for me) and I will be able to get to your page and see what I've missed the past couple of weeks.
