Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!
Holy Captivating Cosmos at Night Doc!
Outstanding white balance control, sharp focus, crisp details all within a fine Square crop.
I am fascinated by the tube like structure of each petal.
Like a Sunny side up egg with tubular wings!
Am VERY behind on reviews due to the storm. No power...no energy...blah. Blah..
Last six...goes to you My Delightfully Difficult Doctor.
Well done!!

    I was fascinated by these petals too Sange....they are VERY cool...but I never saw eggs until you mentioned it.....now it's ALL I see....lol I'm behind w/ reviews too....just wayyyy too much to do this time of year- so not to worry. Thank you so much for checking this guy out....giving it such an egg-celent review AND a shiny gold star too!!! Always happy to see you at the end of a review!

Didn't mean to skip it. Not sure what happened. I enjoy all your photos. The petals on this little guy look like organ pipes with fingers waving. Or, bird wings. LOL. Wow, my imagination... The bright yellow center really shines nicely; black background is perfect for this one; interesting to see all the little line on the petals. Good clarity; love that yellow. I guess w/ all that's been going on I passed this one up somehow. Stay comfortable up there. It's been around 100 here lately.

    Swimmer you are a doll for going back and having a look at this one...especially considering what went on in Florida and from what I hear things are still not back to normal?? Taking them awhile to repair all the damage Irma did to you guys huh?? I hope everything will be up and running again soon. Definitely smiled at your organ pipes analogy...lol Once you said it I can see it...so good imagination. Thank you very much for the wonderful review and extra sparkle. I do definitely appreciate it.

Good Morning Peglegdeb

I like this image a lot. This flower has a lot of detail in the leaves and I have taken a lot of pictures of these blooms. I like the soft look of the leaves and the bright center. Good background enhances your presentation and everything is crisp and clear. I also really like the hint of green in your background. You kind of have to search for it but that helps to hold my attention on your image.

This is well done. Thank you for sharing with me.

Great close up, Deborah, of this beautiful white Cosmos in the evening. The petals do look as if they're made of material and I love the way they curl in different directions. The dark background enhances the flower making it have great impact. Excellent lighting and focus. Lovely composition. Suzanne

Ah, another really nice one BB. You know I always favor your photos taken in the evening as the lighting accents the petals and colors so well. I guess it is getting about that time to get things ready for the cold weather huh? It will be Fall before we know it. I am trying to get the pond ready as I will be leaving for Mexico on the 30th for a month (I think I already told you that). Anyway, I will be sending you photos as they come along so you can have a virtual vacation. Great work on this one BB ~ BB

    Oh BB many of flowers are done for the season.....just the late bloomers left. Another few weeks and I'll be doing the big 'cut down' sigh....always a shock to my system to go out and see NOTHING!! lol so I wait as long as I can to cut things back. Looking forward to my virtual Mexican vacation. Do you go anywhere near where the big earthquake just was? Poor people....it looks like such a mess. Anyway, thank you so much for having a look at my little COSMOS. Signed up for that thing you told me about so you can photos. Looking forward to them.

I do like the flow of this photo and placing into a black background makes it jump. It could jump a bit more if you had increased the mid tone lever and punched up the bright colours. (yellow / white)

There is a muddy washed out cast on the interior petals and purple tinges that break the harmony of the flower, or did you add that purple on purpose? Yellow tinges of flowers in the background could easily be eliminated for a more solid presentation of major flower, alas this is artistic prerogative and only a suggestion from me.

Nice comfortable marginal space all round makes for a pleasant view.

    The black background is the night Olga....I don't change backgrounds. Actually, the program I use is very basic I'm afraid. It's really more for sorting and cataloging my photos. I crop...sharpen a bit and that's about it. One of these days I'll be able to afford a more sophisticated program for post work....until then what you see is what I've photographed.....so no, I added no purple and the 'yellow tinges' in the background are actually COSMOS foliage.

    Do appreciate your honest assessment of my piece. Thank you for having a look and for offering suggestions.

a Strange idea to spend a lot of time and skills for a flower with such shape...lol; not the most beautiful;
but of cours eit is Worth a five because of the excellent sharp focus and exposure for the white;

    I was a bit surprised when I read your review SG.....lol you obviously do not see my white COSMOS the same way I do but 'variety is the spice of life' it is said and it would be so boring if we all liked and disliked the same things. Am always happy to see you at the end of a review and thank you so much for checking this piece out. I appreciate your honest thoughts and ideas.

Fantabulous nighttime capture
with subtle illumination showing fine floral features & velvety soft textures...

A subdued chiaroscuro effect is visually soothing.

Nice perspective & narrow DOF.
Thanks for sharing...
