Brilliant work Susan! a fantastic capture of this unusual type of hoverfly, brilliantly spotted and well identified!! I love discovering and seeing all these new insects that others present here that I had never seen before taking up photography and joining this group - you have captured this well, with good clarity and lighting, and great contrast with the great pink flower it rests on -
perfect! I had a little nosey on the internet and what I found intriguing is that nobody really explains why these have such large thighs in proportion with the rest of the leg/body - I'm sure this is something you found too! Curious, eh? Great work Susan, well done and keep those sharp eyes peeled!! lol :)
