Your focus was spot on. The details of body and plumage are well defined. I see ice crystals on its beak. The shallow DOF is perfect. The gray intensifies the feel of winter and emphasizes the colors of the bird. Those colors are beautiful natural. The bird is nicely placed into the frame. The curve of the branch emphasizes the cardinal further.

Good Morning
Nice capture and very good initial impact. The composition is good and I like your background. It is a neutral gray but your light treatment has given a life to it and it supports the subject very well,
The cardinal is beautiful and it is really sharp and clear. We don't have cardinals where I live but I do shoot a lot of birds and really like them. The black mask here and the bright eye are a delight. As is that top crest on his head.
This is an image that is really commanding and I like it a lot.
