It is the natural way of things not to leave any kind of food on the table. A very fine shot that shows the enthusiasm of the vultures. Nicely composed with great detail.

Fred,
A beautifully taken stop action shot of these ugly but very necessary birds cleaning up what remains of a kill a Buck of some species? Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken withsuperb camera techniques & sharp focus.

One of the more chaotic scenes you perhaps see on a regular basis out there is these birds, famous for their bad reputation as scavenging and aggressive creatures scraping clean the remains of a carcass - you have captured this large group of these birds (and they're not small either are they! I saw some a couple of years ago and they were huge!) with great timing, at their optimum point when the predator has gone far enough out of range for them to hurriedly swoop in and take whatever they can get, squabbling and bickering over the last morsels left on the bones. The clarity of this shot and positioning and cropping are excellent, capturing a huge flock of them feasting away. The detail on them is good in this naturally monochrome shot, with their dull grey wings and heads visible as they all try to get in on the leftovers. The long necks and sharp beaks are clearly visible, and the shape of their big wings and white down on the front also in good view. Not the nicest of mealtimes for them I can imagine, but they are part of the cycle and not much goes to waste out there! And you were lucky enough to catch them in the action in this group, great shot and well done :)

Wow! Very cool photo. I had to zoom in to inspect each bird. You really captured this rather macabre scene beautifully.
I love the muted colors of this shot. It speaks of nature rather gracefully as well as the stark beauty of the African plains.
