Oh..My...Goodness!! You did it! Exactly as you planned I hope. This is amazing!~ Blacks are very tricky to mix. Only those who have painted may know that. You have an amazing spectrum of grays, whites and blacks in this canvas! I am sure you must be happy with this! How long did it take to create? And what size is it? You have accomplished a wonderful dof!!! Congrats! And best of luck!

Thanks for the great review. I did a series of three, all 8x10. It was fun as only having two colors definitely makes you think about tone and shape more. It took 4 or 5 hours to complete. The piece of Half Dome did win a prize a while back.

A beautiful painting and a well chosen tecnique of only keeping it to black and white, to accentuate intead of crowd the painting with clutter, it works fantastically, and gives a great sense of detail, depth and scale as a result. The intricacy of the piece is fantastic and you have clearly spent a lot of time on the finer details of the piece, from the trees at the bottom fore of the picture to the rocky and jagged, steep mountains to the left and right. The peak in the distance has great shading and contrast to create a good realistic sense of distance and size too - a wonderful creative, painting, very well done :)
