Your color placements in this piece give such a nice sense of light flattering the leaves. I think the brush strokes also bring this plant to life. The textures and details are very realistic and attractive.

It is always nice to see an image of just leaves like this, and all the different shades of green look lovely. I especially like the way you have used light to give life to the image, but I think the bottom area is a bit fuzzy. On the other hand, if you had made it smoother, it would probably seem to be too much negative space. Personally I think I would have added another leaf.

The painting is however done paying good attention to details, and the brush strokes are smooth. At the same time you have brought out textures.

I have already said enough about the composition apart from that I like the tight framing. I think this is an all together lovely and well done digital painting Cleo.

Thank you very much for your encouraging and throughout review. I tried to paint old decomposing leaves, but this apparently comes not out well. I guess another intact leave or just dry leaves would have been better. I might try another version. :o)

This is so beautiful Cleo and love how semi abstract your painting looks. It is the freedom of not having the canvas size determine your sweep of your beautiful brush strokes. It's you and not the fern who controls the painting. This is wonderful and I love it. Thank You for sharing.

This is so excellent. I love the perfection. Each nuance so intricately place. The deep shades hidden in the shadows, the lightest greens, reflecting the light. This is so perfect. Amazing.

A lovely, detailed and colourful monochromatic composition of this interesting plant you have accompanied with a concise and interesting narrative. Great detail and accuracy in the leaves, and the shades of green blend wonderfully together amongst the shaded gaps between plants - the proportions are excellent and overall this is a well created and carefully painted piece - lovely work :)

really beautiful in shape, form and structure. very delciate but solid leaves and a super strong focal point. the shades used are very well chosen and applied in all of the right areas. has a wonderful 3d effect. the fern family is such an ancient but diverse range. some have remained unchaged for zillions of years. it would be more ideal if FAR had a height restriction, the same as the width, so you do not have to scroll to see the whole image. but anyways a delightful picture for many reasons.

Thank you very much for your throughout review and encouraging rating. Normally I would resize the painting to a smaller height, but it would not work with this one. The resized image got distorted and pixelated in the upload, so I changed it with the original size.
