What a quaint, adorable, work of art. This truly tells a story, and you have done a fantastic job drawing out all of the details. You are so adorable. I feel as though this is you, and a memory you are sharing with your art.

Thank you so very much Linda. It was really my attempt to do a portrait of my great niece...there is a slight resemblance to her but it is not her. But then practice makes us better.

...and the beautiful attempt! Colors are smooth, and her hair look so real. The face has character, and the eyes look is kind and smiley, thanks for sharing.

A very nice pastel - far better than I could ever dream of doing. I'm lucky to draw a stick figure. I love the colors, the composition (the bricks add some nice contrast to the draped curtains in the background. The subject stands out nicely and there is a nice story going on here. The hand written signs create a nice element of simplicity and realism.

Thank you so very much M.K. that means a lot to me coming from a talent like you. I actually put this piece away for a year and one half and then took it out and reworked it a bit for this contest. I guess it shows that we are often our own worst critic. Thanks again, my friend.

Beautiful painting with great artistic style. Love the lighthearted feel of the painting. I would suggest making some of the words more blurred so any imperfections in handwriting aren't as noticeable, but I can also see how the words add to the tone of the piece. Great work!

Hi Anon

What a lovely pastel painting this is. The girl looks very soft and you have really captured her long locks of hair very well. Excellent entry into the contest in which I wish you luck! R

that is really a very nice picture and very unusual in style and theme. awesome in many aspects; especially in the medium used to produce the colour and shading. always loved the name as was a memebr of the original 'cloak and dagger club' (in the east end of london), before they changed title..

For being a first attempt at a portrait it is pretty good. There is definitely a story to tell here as you wonder why she looks so excited to see that play. Her hat with the flower give the girl a lot of character. Love the composition and the way you placed her off center. Good luck in the contest. Karen

Love your style and your beautiful retro painting of yesteryear. You really caught the essence of the oldtime flickr show houses that remember going to as a young boy and loved the shorts and Movietone newsreels, It was magic!! Thank You for sharing.
