A beautiful sunset over the lake on which both the sun & the trees on the far bank are reflected the sun's beam fanning out across the water to where you are standing. Beautiful composition framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & Sharp focus.

Aptly captured for the contest theme... Excellent choice of subject.
Dramatic illumination.
Solid silhouettes in stark contrast with the setting sun.
Nice reflections.
Soothing ripples.
Good perspective & long depth of field...

For some reason it has been difficult to come to grips about this photo. The brilliant setting sun is hard to look at. The reflection is not as brilliant but also difficult. The darker shapes that split the photo in half seem out of place. The bronze sky doesn't look natural. It is almost exactly what I saw one evening while in Blythe, California while taking some pictures of the Colorado river. I did not succeed in getting a picture as well done as this one. Probably the reason this has been a difficult picture for me to critique. Nevertheless it is a fine photograph. Reasons for my five vote.

I dont know how to take this,,it seemed that you did not like it and then you did?? ha,,,in my world this is a perfect sunset,,,golden,,and yes the sun is hard to look at but that what makes the shoreline a silhouette, it is dark yet that sun in its final hour or minute before it disappears glows its hardest,,I do not find it hard to look at at all,, my camera caught it exactly how it was,,,lol,,,thanks for reviewing

Oh I like it. The brilliance of the sun makes it difficult for me to look at because I find myself staring at the sun to long. But it is a good photograph.

This bright ball of fire, shining out its last rays of daylight, happens to have a mirror to reflect back its glory. The silhouetted horizon only adds to it's brilliance. Great work.

Very nice contest entry as the tree line is nicely silhouetted by the setting sun. Love the reflections of the sun and the ripples in the water. Nice setting sun. Good luck in the contest.

What a great scene. The colors are so soothing and yet outstanding. The silhouettes of the trees adds just enough drama to the scene to make it very pleasing to look at. I like how you placed the sun left of center and it is not overblown. The reflection is stunning. A very good entry for the contest. Good show ~ Steve

A fantastic and brilliantly timed shot, captured with great DOF and clarity, showing the golden sun creating a beautiful orange and grey sky that blends together wonderfully as the sun sets. The POV is perfect to show this lovely array of shapes at different levels and in different shapes of the silhouettes of the different trees on the water's edge, reflecting nicely in the calm waters in the foreground along with the orange cast from the sky once more, creating a near symmetrical effect. Beautiful shot and best of luck in the competition! :)

This is a lovely sunset and the silhouette of the shrubbery and trees is very suitable for this contest. The sun and its reflections are compelling.

You have definitely caught some great colours here. It's like the sky is on fire. I like the way that you have included the water in the shot as well. Well done and best of luck with the competition :-)
