Beautiful pencil of Illustration. You captured the haunting, sadness in her eyes. Great shading and lighting. I love the softness and sex appeal she has without having to show much skin. Beautiful work!

Thank you so very very much I do nude figures for anatomical perfection some folks just don?t understand but that?s okay I try to keep them decent

I hope I did not offend you. I do think your nude photos are beautifully and tastefully done. I was born and raised conservative so I have not been exposed to Nude art. I did go to an art show of the artist from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries and most all were nude figures. They explained that nudity art was considered descent and beautiful worthy of galleries yet a painting of a woman scrubbing the floor was considered vulgar and not allowed in galleries. That was so shocking for me. It?s strange how times and customs have changed.

I?m not offended unfortunately to understand anatomy correctly it is a necessary evil micheal Angelo and Leonardo da Vinci dissected corpses to understand anatomy just think if they were caught they would have been burned at the stake micheal Angelo did lots of nude figures and statues all for the church I think really think it all depends on how you portray them sure if it lude I understand but I try to keep them as decent as I can I respect your faith and beliefs I will always put a warning on my nude figures I love god and admire his perfect creations it?s not a sex thing just a study of anatomy and beauty don?t worry I?m not offended always good to get good feedback

Beautiful pencil rendering of Marilyn, James! I love the light to dark contrasting as well as shading technique that brings to life beauty of form and personality we've come to recognize. Nice soft touches and expressive draw.

Have you seen the movie Niagara with Marilyn? Very different from her usual. My husband and I bought it to watch after a trip there. Like the movie, your portrait has captured a different Marilyn. Well done.

I love the free and expressive strokes in this portrait. The black and white rendering gives it a nostalgic feel that goes with the era of her fame. The lights and shadows are well executed.

You are welcome. I thought this might be you from the strokes...I?m doing my reviews blind so as to ensure no bias.

What a fabulous sketch. You really did a wonderful job with this pencil drawing. I doubt anyone could do such a great job. Kudos!!

Well done sketch of the late Marilyn Monroe.
Your line work is quite nice. The shadows and shading are very dramatic and well done.
The composition is nice as it is framed
I think the only thing that is of is her nose.
The shading you have there needs to be a little more refined.
It looks like her nose is slightly blunted.
The other thing about drawing Marilyn is that everyone thinks they know what she looks like.
But in reality, they do not. They just think they do!

Thank you so very very much I noticed that the shading on the nose may be to harsh needs to be a little more refined I always make a mistake sometimes I don?t see it right away once again thank you so very much

Wow! I like this pencil sketch of the legendary Marilyn Monroe. I love the signature hair style...but more than that you have captured the image and essences of her. The eyes and facial features, the long neck. Your shading adding interest and dynamics to your portrait. Outstanding work....you have a special talent in creating the human form. Outstanding work and thanks for sharing.

Thank you so very very much I had a review saying my proportions were off but I measured and remeasured and they are correct does it look off to you once again thank you so very very much
reply by Stringbean on 16-Oct-2017
You are so welcome Jesuel....your proportions all look well balanced. I think one of the hardest things for an artists to create are these types of sketches....where the eyes, the check bones, lines of the jaw are so critical and your drawings are so realistic.....that is your speciality. Well done!

Got to be honest. Not sure about the face. Sorry. Love the hair, it's perfect. Good lines and form. Good facial features. Nice highlighting. Maybe a bit darker background. Thanks for sharing.

a good attempt at the gorgeous model that we all so loved back in the day. I am struggling with the structure of the face and its angles and proportions as they don't appear quite right but that is not to say the overall picture is suffering as it still comes across as a good presentation with good use of tones if anything
