Oooh just love that orange against the blackened backdrop, it really helps enhance the beauty of this flower and I acknowledge such a presentation as I , as you know, tend to paint my flowers with the same composition with darkened back ground..Great shot Debs ð???

So pleased you went and had a look at this one Neil. Knew you'd approve of the dark background.....I am very lucky to have no neighbors or street lights to mess up my night-time photography. So thank you for giving this guy such a fine review. I do really appreciate it.

This is beautiful. The pumpkin color is pertinent during these quickly progressing days of fall. And the black bg is perfect to showcase your detail in the tips of the petals and bring out that bit of black in the stamen.

Speaking of 'quickly progressing days of fall' I've been noticing that even the ASTERS (VERY last flower in my gardens) are going by.....sigh...going to be nothing but photos of flowers to look at pretty soon.

oh they get me through too Becky. I sometimes am sitting and drooling over the flowers on my computer though by the time Feb/March rolls around...lol...and I STILL have a couple months left even then. That's a really nice thing for you to say btw. I'm glad.

I love the color and textures.
You can see all the little seed heads and feel the soft petals in this wonderfully captured image.
The black background against the orange is awesome.
Really gives it a lot of pop.

Those are the little seeds ready to pop out of the center of this COSMOS Lise. I collected them a couple of days after taking this photo. Pretty cool, no? Always appreciate you checking out one of my posts and thank you so much for the fine review you've given this one.

Your focus is just spot on and sharp showing such clear and well defined details in the petals, and also especially in the center of the flower. I also think the exposure is perfect.
The format and cropping works so well and the placement of the flower within the frame is perfect. Indeed a lovely and well taken flower photo in all its simplicity.

This photo is bold and sassy. The gold color is bright and pops against the black background. There is tremendous detail in the center of the flower. The petals softly blur out away from the center. Overall, good initial impact.
