Beautiful shot! Jealous congratulations to you for attending a Mannheim Steamroller concert. It does look like a snowy night in the city with the lights. It also looks like a shot of the universe. One of those, you see what you want shots. Congratulations!

Thank you very much! One of my kitty client's had tickets and they ended up not being able to go so I had the good fortune of being in the right place at the right time and they gave me their tickets.

I was at a Mannheim Steamroller concert a few years ago. It was great! I like how you captured the motion of the confetti and also captured the wonderful laser lighting effects!

It is very difficult to shoot 1/15 sec without a tripod that shutter is so slow. And you have to be rock steady. It worked well enough here because your subject was light so the soft focus works here.
The fun I would have with this in Topaz would make you Drool Lu!
Ha!
It's an excellent entry for this contest. I love the colors and confetti which reminds me of snow.
Good Luck Gracie ~Lu!!

Thank you Sange! It was a challenge without a tripod, for sure. I really need to get my hands on some of that software! I know it would make me drool- but then a lot of your work does - lol. I seem to be attracted to work I have seen where the artist used Topaz and/or Lightroom. I need to research those and maybe one day actually play with them. I could see myself getting lost in those playrooms for hours on end.....where would I find the time?!!

Well Santa is coming next month...so one of his elves told me to tell you to not research anything until after the Fat man arrives.

I guess the biggest challenge is staying off the Naughty list!

Well, despite the restrictions you describe you have still submitted a good and enjoyable shot! It's well composed, sharp and is well exposed. Well done and good luck!

Wow! This is a very unique photo for the Light Photography Contest and good luck. Your differentiation is this scene has made it a dynamic one. Your use of light and shadows is creating depth and interest. I love the beam of light mixed with the confetti makes for a great image. Good camera techniques and a creative and artistic photo. This is very nice work and thanks for sharing.

What a great scene Grace. The sparkling stars of the confetti flowing like snow flakes in a storm combined with the wonderful and various colors of lights makes this a perfect entry for the contest. BTW, Mannheim Steamroller is one of my favorite groups. I have always wanted to see them in concert. Best of fortune in the contest Grace ~ Steve

Thank you Steve! I was worried whether this was a suitable entry.....maybe because I was originally going to enter a shot of the solar eclipse - which is probably a little too far outside the box as an entry :)
It was a great concert. You should try to go, they will be in Nashville on December 28th! I would also really like to see the Trans Siberian Orchestra!

Wow! Out of the box thinking. Quite a dramatic light effects! You have timed it well. The light and shadows, colours and the composition have worked out well. Good effort!

An interesting capture and way to look at this kind of thing, which normally goes unnoticed until it's falling on you or around you - you've captured it brilliantly despite the motion and you're right it does have a space like feel to it, or perhaps deep sea to me but with those really bright submarine lights? either way, a lovely and subtle but interesting array of colours, combining with the lighting THEN the added effect of the confetti falling makes for a surprisingly good photo, with a lot to catch your eye in all it's simplicity. Well observed and great shot :)

Thank you for your nice comments. I am always interested in your perspective. I'm glad it isn't too horrible with the motion :)
