Hey. You have been absent almost as long as I. Welcome back...:)

This has a painterly feel to it. Early winter. I'm not ready, yet.

Excellent work in chasing off the hunter...lol. Good work, Comanche.

Your image is soft and inviting. Nice colors and great contrast. Well done.

Oh I know Paul. This very unusual and VERY wild wind storm about a month ago completely wiped out all the internet equipment outside my home and getting set up again was like getting internet to the moon or something...lol One of the (only) downsides to living out in the woods like I do. ...and Comanche is a star when it comes to chasing off strangers....that hunter didn't have a chance!

Thank you so much for checking out my my first post this month. Always so pleased to see YOU at the end of a review. Will check out your page this afternoon.

Although all of my brothers hunt and consume what they kill, I am like you in that I only hunt with a camera. This first dusting of snow is just lovely and looks so Norman Rockwell.

I think it looks very Norman Rockwell-ish too Linda.....it's one of my favorite spots for late autumn photo-taking. You know I have no problem w/ hunters who eat what they hunt....as long as they don't do it on MY land. About 10 years ago I found a small - very small doe someone had shot and simply left there....arggggg It was then that I started posting my land. Do appreciate you checking out my new piece and thanks so much for the fine review.

I agree with you and if I had land I would not want people hunting on it.

Effective capture if vertical lines in aesthetic arrangement.

Sharply focused.
Fine features & textures.
Amazing colors with painterly feel.
Pale blue cloudless sky lends a soothing backdrop!

Good perspective & long depth of field...

Thanks for sharing...

Wow Deborah, what a beautiful view of your landscape with the fresh fallen snow. Your clarity and focus is amazing showing all the wonderful detail in this shot. I think its a beautiful color of the sky, and it really gives your photo a wintery
appearance. Lovely framing
and presentation, with a great story. Wonderfully
artistic as well.

As much as I miss my flowers Marsha I have to admit I love the changing seasons and the completely different photo opportunities they present. Thank you so much for having a look at my new post and I do really appreciate the marvelous review you've given it. This is one of my favorite spots right here....glad you like it too.

You're welcome Deborah! When I really miss flowers I just go to the florist at the grocery store
And iPhone away! Yes now it's time for other great
    Opportunities.

I do the same thing Marsha....buy flowers throughout the winter when I just can't stand not being able to see some. Great minds huh lol

The family of cranes is currently sleeping in the water in front of my house and I am sure they are not looking forward to winter. I like this composition and the way the windblown snow has been plastered to the trees. Great colors and fine details.

Hmmm, seems like I've seen this scene before, mebee about a year ago?

November is my least favorite month. But when something like a light snow fall happens a transformation of mind and soul takes root and I have the mental courage to face another New England Winter.

The month of November is unlike all the other months. Its's not Autumn nor Winter, and yet, has its own allure.

Your post has captured that 'allure', that intangible essence that reminds us why we chose to live were we do.

If you decide to print this commanding piece, please consider canvas.

Why you ask? I think the saturation, color and tonal ranges are all very close to each other and will compliment each other on canvas.

So, in conclusion I find this take to be technically superb and artistically excellent ... OMP

Well Mr. P!! How are you OMP??? This is one of my favorite spots over by the orchard. I photograph it every Autumn when it first snows b/c it always looks so gorgeous and I am trying to make myself feel better about the month of November....so while it is similar be assured it is brand new.

You so perfectly describe Nov. here in the NE. One of my least favorite months.....I am still missing my gardens and then it's not only cold and grey but the friggen hunters invade my peaceful solitude....grrrrr.... Do you know it's funny that you mention canvas b/c just this week I have been looking up prices to have several of my pieces done up in canvas. I am sooo tired of looking at blank walls!

I am just so pleased to have you review this piece. It's the first I've posted since the first of the month. That wind storm took my internet and sent the equipment up into the sugar woods. But is is wonderful to be back- FINALLY and to find this marvelous review from you OMP...and a shiny gold star. Seriously, thank you....'technically superb and artistically excellent' have put a huge smile on my face this evening.

Nice Wintry scene; love all the colors; colors blend nicely; the sky brings it all out; love the white tips on the trees; nice depth and focus; seems it would be cozy in a house w/ this outside; don't have snow but it's cold here; supposed to be in upper 20s one day next week. Take care.

Yep, I've turned up the heat at my place. And, gone are the wearing shorts days. LOL.
reply by the author on 18-Nov-2017
yes I finally gave in and admitted it was time to put the shorts in the drawer for a few months swimmer lol Now it's hats and fingerless gloves when it gets REALLY cold in here. Well...stay warm!!

I don't like to admit it, but most of the time now, I am wearing pants. Ugh! Oh well... got to do what I got to do. Another few weeks the deer should be showing up more in our neighborhood. They have a rough time finding enough food. Take care.

The deer around my place have one more week to hide swimmer. Last day of hunting season is this coming Sunday....then they're free to roam around the Apple Orchard again. You stay warm now!
reply by swimmer74 on 20-Nov-2017
I guess we'll see more of the deer here in Dec. Yes, i am doing my best to stay toasty and warm. No chance of getting a Sun burn. It gets down right cold in Dec. here. Deer sightings will be very common.

Thank you; you do the same. Not sure what we're doing yet. Last year we went to Perkins. Wasn't bad. Later Deb.
