In medias res, we enter the story right in the middle. This creation is as imaginative and funny as the drunken bear. It reminds of Aesop's fables. What a beautiful idea! A frog who tries to climb a tree on its escape from a heron. Bad situation for the frog, because herons can fly, frogs cannot. Maybe the frog has the luck of the dumb and finds a squirrel or a mole which helps him to escape. Sure this is a story which makes children and adults smile. The colors emphasize the story. The sepia of the forest makes clear that we are in the realms of fantasy. The vivid colors of the animals are in perfect contradiction to the sepia, which emphasizes the animals themselves and their ongoing story. Even as the frog seems in jeopardy, he might escape

Very creative artwork. I love how it is all done in sepia tones except for the heron and the frog, the two main characters The title of this is really cute and tells the story of what the heron is up to. The framing, lighting and composition are all done so well. Thanks for sharing. Karen

An interesting piece and fascinating layout and depth to it, with the added comedy edge which gives it even more of and edge as a piece - the surroundings are exquisitely created and look photographic, with the big green mossy trees in the foreground being the centrepiece for the tight situation the poor frog is in facing this hungry Heron or big bird of some kind!! Wonderful lighting effects with the golden brown glow of the sun shining through the dense and detailed, misty forest and water, showing great detail throughout and great intricacy with the shape and branches of the trees and foliage throughout. The tiny frog making a dash for it and the bird looking like it's probably got the upper hand here are both immaculately drawn, with fine and bright colours contrasting their scene well. A great piece, well done :)
