Very nice Mary.. you handled white Balance well enough to show off this beauty.
I would suggest you selectively Lighten the eyes more. Trace them and Lighten..or use dodge tool on highlight. Sharp focus and fantastic DOF.
The camera you use has a high sensitivity to light. It's important to get your EV/Exposure Compensation set along with ISO.
That is the plus and minus button next to your shutter.
Nice job on the crop showing an up close view of her eating poor "jelly Bean"
;)

Very cool looking owl. He is giving you a look like your gonna take his lunch..lol. The clarity is great. The angle of the shot of this owl with lunch is great. The capture of the light is great. The image is balance and eye appealing to the viewer. Great eye and great job overall

Cool,Mary!
( Super Cool,in fact! )
Owls have always fascinated me,not only 'cause they're Nocturnal Raptors but because of all their interesting Occult/Mystical associations and your photo portrait of 'Casper' ( who looks like he'd be a perfect 'familiar' for the legendary 'Diana,Queen of the Witches' ) looks Great!

Nicely framed shot of this owl, great detail in feathers as well as the fur in the mouse.Dark background really sets off this bird's light colored plummage, especially in the heart- shaped face. Thanks for sharing this great photo.

A beautiful barn owl. I like the pose and glistening eyes. The colors are great and I like seeing a brown mouse; up here they always get fed white mice.

It's an interesting capture. But, I do find it hard to look at. The owl is intense and the details are exceptional. It's a really well composed photo, but I do feel sorry for the mouse. I never saw anything like this.

Thanks Karen, pleased you still managed to view the image which is quite confronting but such a natural part of nature :) Mary
