This is a fantastic angle. I actually didn't know that about elephants, but it makes sense. I like how you can see the light shining down on top of his head, and the clarity is perfect. Well done and thanks for sharing :)

A wonderful picture of the Elephant trunk held high to sniff the air for odours as the herd moves through the long grass & thorn bushes. Beautiful composition framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

In particular I like your composition of this periscoped beast and him coming in at the side gives the feeling of intrusion....and detecting odor which it looks like he has....oh dear.

not at all silly: it is a very common behaviour of éléphants able to better capture an odor, less influenced by the close ground....
I'lll try to find silly titles for my next pics so I'll be able to enjoy reading your comments ; lol;
