A beautiful shot that not only submerges the subject in the colours and surroundings it is in in an almost camouflage fashion, but captures it with great clarity and sharp detail, with wonderful timing and excellent lighting. The DOF is amazing and the piece is nearly monochromatic, showing subtle shades of light brown from the trees it is perched in, both focused and blurred, and contrasting well with the blues & greens of the sky and foliage beyond. The cropping and position is excellent and overall this is a truly amazing shot; great work and best of luck in the competition! :)

How waaaaaay up? What lens were you using?. Excellent capture. At first I thought it was a painting. Color and lighting are wonderful. Great composition, framing, focus and dof. Excellent choice of avian subject with Sharply focused
Fine features & varied textures.
Subtle illumination.
Subdued colors.
Busy backdrop but with the right large opening, it still managed to standout even with the monochromatic trunk & branch.
Dynamic diagonal framing.
Nice perspective & narrow DOF.
