I love the black background as it pops this bleeding beauty. The red tinges really do look like she is bleeding and the detail of patterns caught is very nice.
How did you do the background?

ahhh haaa....good job. Try using a muslin cloth on a frame and drop it behind flowers. I learned that trick here on FAR from another member.

Very nice photograph of this flower. Not sure what it is, but you are lucky to still be getting flowers in December. Nice detail and lighting. The composition is nicely framed and the folds in the petals captured and displayed very well.

Oh are you talking about the 2 lil eyes peeking at ya upside down? Yeah they do that and plus some..wink..I like the 2 different colors in this rose. I might bring that into my series. The clarity is great. The capture of the light is great. The angle of the shot of this colorful flower is great. The image is balance and eye appealing to the viewer. Good eye and great job overall..oh btw I posted one that is titled "this is yours Santa??'..tell me that you wouldn't say "awww" when you see it..wink. merry Christmas.

A great close up and miraculous capture to have taken now, but as they say, nature finds a way and it obviously has in this case! Great clarity and detail shows the structure and shape of the flower head beginning to open brilliantly, nicely cloned (a few little telltale bits but only because I've spent hours doing it myself, tedious as hell!!) to leave the black backdrop, which accentuates the piece further, which is lit well and shows the bright orange and red colours that blend together well to make up the nice composition you have created here - well done, and on keeping the flowers growing regardless of the weather lol!! :)
