A philosophical capture. How very true! A fine close-up shot! Excellent color and tonal range: complements the mood of the image. The light and shadows, colours and the composition have worked out well. Good effort!

A beautiful picture of this dried brown fallen Sycamore leaf showing the first signs of breaking up to become compost to nourish the soil & the trees above. Beautiful composition framing,& lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

What a great image. I love how the detail comes out even with the soft light. The almost monochromatic scene has just enough background to give this a sense of place. Thanks for sharing this effort.

Very apt title for this lovely shot of the dead leaf, ready to feed the earth for more life. I like the angle you used for this showing all the intricate patterns of the veins in the leaf with the surrounding dead leaves providing added interest. I like the subdued colours in this. Great lighting and focus. Very good composition. Suzanne

This is a really nice photo of fall leaves. The main leaf is framed tightly and full of details on the fragile dry leaf. The colors are all done in tones of browns with a hint of green to the left. Nice work.

Hi Meg, yes to this for many reasons.
Simple and strong and what a brave soul you are for that crop. Because you have nipped off the edges of the big leaf you take our eyes into the heart of the photo showing veins and stem of this large leaf.
The image is crystal sharp...which sharpening tool do you use? Lately, I've fallen in love with high pass do you use that one?
Colour palette is uniform and speaks of dying yet the brightness speaks of life and THAT is the essence of your image...life and death and so appropriate...the cycle of life.
